Re: World Hoop Day 9-9-9
Fri, August 28, 2009 - 10:11 PMI've got class from 8-9pm that night... but would be up for a hoop gathering earlier, or after!
Sat, Sept 19th is my bday, and I was going to propose a potluck party at the Circus that day.. two hoop parties in one month would still be fun :)

Re: World Hoop Day 9-9-9
Mon, August 31, 2009 - 5:57 PMI would prefer earlier. They're forecasting highs in the 20s for next week, so it should still be nice enough in the evening to be outdoors. Should we stay with tradition and gather in the usual spot at English Bay with potlucky goodness? I could get there by 6:30ish and could bring a stereo, though mine's not as loud as Big Pink. :)
Two hoop parties in one month sounds marvelous to me. -

We will be hanging out at Kits beach at 5:30 for world hoop day! I would love for all of us to be together, I dont know if it has happened yet. We didnt think there was anything else on the go and sent out invites, but it would be oh so lovely if we were all in the one spot sharing some hoop love!!
Oh please do come :)
Much love!

Re: World Hoop Day 9-9-9
Mon, September 7, 2009 - 9:04 PMhi alley,
yeah, the last two years we've had a potluck picnic at english bay. it was loads of fun. i think at least one of those years there was also a morning get-together that i had to miss.
i don't mind changing locations - i was waiting for more consensus before spreading the word, but i'm curious if there was a discussion on another forum or just between select individuals.
does anyone else have any input? -

Re: World Hoop Day 9-9-9
Tue, September 8, 2009 - 2:37 AM5:30 works better for me than 6:30 (I'd barely have time to hoop with you before having to dash off to class!) but Kits is farther away than English Bay... heh, anyone up for a lunchtime hoop downtown at the Art Gallery?

Re: World Hoop Day 9-9-9
Wed, September 9, 2009 - 12:02 AMit doesn't look that much further on the map, if you take the Burrard bridge (with fancy new bike lanes! w00t!). i hope you can come out, Christa!
Here's a little more info for everyone on the Kits gathering that Alley and Nicole planned:
Hello every one
I know many of you will be on your way home from the desert - or possibly just arrived back to us in the city but IT'S WORLD HOOP DAY!!!!!
wednesday september 9th
We were thinking of hooping it up in Kitsilano
starting around 5:30pm
at kits beach to the west of watermark - past the big parking lot ( sort of in between arbutus and Yew streets)
We will be there with many many many many hoops!!!
we will have many to share and to give away
so if you want to come celebrate with us and spread the hooping madness please join us
if you have some hoops to give away please bring them along - especially smaller kids hoops!
please bring everyone with you - family, friends, kids, grandmas!
Oh ~ and hope for sun!!!
Happy hooping

Re: World Hoop Day 9-9-9
Wed, September 9, 2009 - 5:40 PMthe facebook event page says 8:30 to 10pm. not sure if it's going any later.
if anyone still wants to go to the beach, Steve and I will be there from 6:30 to 8pm with music and a few hoops. It has stopped raining and isn't likely to rain much more today. Here is a description of where we'll be:
The paved area that is an extension of the seawall, between Kits Pool and the Watermark Restaurant, between the water and the parking lots just off of Cornwall. If you click on the map at the top right of this webpage, you will get an aerial photo of the beach: vancouver.ca/Parks/rec/beaches/kitsb.htm The paved area is just above where it says Yew St. If the grass isn't too soggy we might be on the grass.
We'll head to the Mount Pleasant Community Center after 8pm.
