Not a long happens here in vancouverpoi, so I thought I'd post a few things to whet curiosities, spark inspiration, and maybe even promote commenting and discussion. The first is Nick Woolsey's website:

www.playpoi.com,

and especially the video section: www.playpoi.com/videos. There are some great tutorials here for the behind-the-back weave, 5-beat weave, under-the-leg movement, and a newer move that he calls super duper uberloops, or uberloops for short. I especially love the possibilities that uberloops open up for whole body movement. Wonder how long it takes to get it down?

I know that NIck would love to receive feedback for his work, and comments here are also appreciated. Are you working on any of these moves? Do you have questions about them? New ways of using them? Observations? Let's hear your thoughts!

I watched the instructional video for the 5 beat weave and thought it was great. The idea of winding/unwinding is an interesting way to see things. I just started spinning, and having verbal instruction (rather than just a repeated video of a trick) is helpful for me. His ideas of leading, and pulling the opposite hand over was definetly helpful. Plus...he's got a great playful energy about him. :)

    Thanks for posting that!
