Lagna chart and chalit chart and its significance

Hi All,
The Lagna Chart, also known as Rasi Chart, talks about the relative positions of planet for identifying the nature of the planet (benefic/ malefic etc.) and relationship with other planets. For example, a planet 6th, 8th, or 12th from lagna is not good for langa. On the other hand, Chalit chart tells about planet's house position also called planet siginifcation. For example if a planet is in 8th in lagna kundli but in 7th in chalit kundli, it means that you will get the result of 7th house during the dasa period of that planet. Due to being in 8th in lagna chart, the result may be malefic, so it shows problem in marriage.

Assessing house position from Lagna Kundli is not correct. This is the reason we see cuspal chart is being used in KP System for assessing the signification and synthesizing the result with dasa. In case the planets are shifting in Chalit Chart, in dasa period of a planet, it is recommended to predict the result of house with which the planet is associated in Chalit chart and NOT in Lagna chart.

The Chalit chart requires some mathematical calculation and that is the reason it was not very popular. But now with easy availability of computers, it is important that astrologers start using Chalit chart.

How to evalute D-9 (Navamsa chart)

Listed below is an example as to how to evaluate D9 chart :-

EXAMPLE: XYZ LADY
RASHI CHART: Leo Ascendant –Virgo, Rahu in 2H – Scorpio Ju, Merc, Moon in 4H – Sagittarius, Sun, Saturn in 5H, Capricorn Venus in 6H - Pisces, Ketu in 8H – Aries, Mars in 9H.
NAVAMSA CHART: Cancer, Jup in Ascendant – Leo, Moon, Rahu in 2H – Libra, Sun in 4H – Scorpio, Mars in 5H – Aquarius, Venus, Ketu in 8H – Pisces, Merc in 9H – Gemini, Saturn in 12H

ANALYSIS:

I SUGGEST THAT YOU WILL BETTER UNDERSTAND THE FOREGOING EXPLANATION ONLY IF YOU ACTUALLY DRAW THE CHARTS AND SEE. Please do not read it theoretically:

(1) Her Rashi chart Asc Lord is Sun, placed in 5H and its dispositor Jup in Scorpio in friendly sign but in its 12th house. In Navamsha, her Rashi chart ASC lord Sun is debilitated in 4H. Her navamsha chart ASC lord Moon is also debilitated in 4th house of rashi chart. This indicates that she is a pious/religious person (Sun placed in 5H), but will limit her bhakti in tune with other responsibilities (Jup in Scorpio in friendly sign but in its 12th house), She will lack opportunities to prove her personality or her house-mates (4H) will not value her virtuous qualities (Rashi chart ASC lord Sun is debilitated in 4H and navamsha chart ASC lord Moon is also debilitated in 4th house of rashi chart)

(2) The 7L + Asc Lord is in 5th house. Her D9 7L is also Saturn and is in 12th house and the D9 5L aspects it. Venus is in Saturnine sign in and in bad houses in both the charts. This shows that the native will have a love marriage. (There are many other combinations that may also lead to love marriage).

(3) Her 5L and 2L in rashi chart are in 4H with Moon, indicating that she is a musician. This also indicates that she will earn (2H) through tuitions (5L) at home (4H) and the students mostly women (Moon). In Navamsa, Jupiter is in Cancer. Assume that this Navamsa Jupiter is “as it is, along with the cancer sign”, kept in the rashi chart - on the cancer sign. Then the “guest Jupiter” will be opposite to the natal Venus in RASI CHART. This also indicates that she is musician and will teach. – Mahesh, this is what exactly Shri K.N.Rao is indicating you to do. He is NOT asking us to change the lagna (rashi chart or navamsha chart). All he means is something like – Lift the NAVAMSA CHART and keep it on the RASI CHART in such way that rashis in both the chart come on each other and then see! (Technically, this means that ASSUME the lagna in Navamsa is that of Rasi Chart)

(4) Planets in her 4H house of rashi chart are in scorpio and scorpio is the sign in her 5th house of Navamsha. This also indicates “teaching at home”. Again, this is also the same exercise what Shri K.N.Rao says. BUT THIS TIME IT IS OTHER WAY - Lift the RASI CHART and keep it on the NAVAMSA CHART in such way that rashi in both the chart come on each other and then see! (Technically, this means that ASSUME the lagna in Rasi chart is that of Navamsa Chart).

Kaalsarpa yoga and Kaalamrita yoga

Dear All,
A simple analysis to identify the same.

Let me clarify.

First of all, check the following conditions.
1) All planets between Rahu and Ketu
2) No planet is with Rahu
3) No planet is with Ketu
4) No planet in the Lagna
5) No planet in the 7th house

If any of the conditions above are not met, the chart does not
have
either KSY or KAY. (Kal sarp Yoga, Kal amrita yoga)

If ALL of these conditions are met, the next step is to see which
of
the yogas it is, KSY or KAY. The process for that is, as I
mentioned
before,
1) Start from Rahu
2) Traverse the chart in the zodiacal direction. This is the
normal
direction that the planets move in, and goes from Aries to Taurus
to
Gemini to Cancer etc.
3.a)If the next entity encountered is Ketu, this means
that
all the planets are between Ketu and Rahu. This is Kala Sarpa Yoga.
3.b)If the next entity encountered is a planet other than
Ketu, this means that the planets are all between Rahu and Ketu.
this is kalamrita yoga.

My visual crutch for remembering this is to visualize planets
going
towards either Rahu or Ketu. If there are all hurling towards
Rahu,
the native is veering towards Rahu's materialism, which makes it
Kala Sarpa yoga, since Rahu represents the Sarpa, or poison. On
the
other hand, if the planets are all moving towards Ketu, it is Kala
Amrita yoga, since Ketu represents Moksha or Amrita.

My outline above is based on the progression of the planets, but
you
get the same result if you consider the movement of Ra and Ke
instead.
1) Start from Rahu again
2) Traverse the direction that Rahu (and Ketu) move in, i.e. go in
the anti-zodiacal direction. This means if you start from Aries,
go
to Pisces, Aquarius etc.
3.a) If you encounter a planet other than ketu, this means that
this
planet is being "swallowed up" by Rahu in its progression - again
indicating Kala Sarpa yogam.
3.b) If the first planet you encounter is Ketu, and then you
encounter the other planets, this means that Ketu is "swallowing
up"
the other planets in its movement, i.e. the desire for Moksha is
comsuming the indications of all other planets, and the native
will
eventually reach Moksha. This is Kalamrita yoga.

The importance of Ascendant

Vedas declare that the creation on this earth is done with "Pancha Bhoota's" or the five elements viz Air, Fire, Water, Earth and Space. The first four factors are known to all, as they can be felt, seen, tasted and used. What is meant by space or 'Akasa"? It can be taken, as all the subtle forms of energy like Electricity, magnetism, Gravity, and other forces known and unknown, which bring about stability in creation and its activation.

The zodiacal signs and planets represent these elements and qualities. The Vedic seers understood this fact and classified the signs and planets according to their innate nature. The sign Aries, Leo and Sagittarius are fiery in nature so also are the Sun and Jupiter. Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn are earthly signs so also is the planet Mars. Gemini, Libra and Aquarius are airy signs and Mercury is also airy planet. Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces are watery signs and so are the planets Venus and Moon.

Saturn, Rahu and Ketu represent the akasa or subtle forces and Rahu and Ketu are referred as shadowy planets.

Persons who are born in fiery signs exhibit Vitality, Command, and leadership qualities. They are assertive and independent. Those born in Earthly signs indicate stability, Care for material welfare, learn the art of making wealth, seek power and position. They are prudent, practical and cautious, reserved, secretive and methodical.

Hence when majority of the planets occupy earthly signs business is the best option. Building, Mining, and all slow and laborious jobs requiring time labor and perseverance go people born in earthly signs. Airy signs are connected with the mind or mental experiences. They are cheerful, gentle amicable, courteous and refined human beings. They have good intellect and fertile imagination. They are idealistic, artistic, good musicians, dancers, inquisitive and well informed. These people exert much and suffer nervous troubles. If the third cusp falls in fixed sign they will be rigid in attitude. They dislike travel. The jobs most suited to them are government service, employment in old firms, or where there is no hurry. They don't go out and grab opportunities. They are slow and plodding and succeed eventually.

People born in dual signs are like Pendulum who have fluctuating and flexible nature. They are intellectuals, sympathetic and sensitive. They can be inconsistent, indecisive, vacillating and restless. Their general tendency is to drift and dream. They have no set purpose. They are averse to fights. Nothing appeals to them permanently. They tend to wander aimlessly and seldom work towards a fixed objective.

Raja bhanga yogas

This is one of the less discussed topics of Vedic astrology. That is because no one wants the Yogas in his horoscope cancelled by an astrologer. However the discussion is a part of Vedic astrology hence it is taken up. Casting horoscopes with Nakshatra Padas and exact degree of planetary placements is known to all. This becomes necessary to weigh and analyzes the raja yogas present in the horoscope. (Yogas for wealth, power and position etc). Planets in quadrants and trines and lords of quadrants combining or aspecting each other confer Raja yogas. Astrologers over look one fact while looking at these raja yoga combinations is that the mere presence of the raja yoga combination is not sufficient to give the materialization of the yogas.

The first factor is exact degree wise relation i.e. the orb of influence of the planets should meet and the second is the planets causing the yogas should not be in inimical signs, inimical bhavas, or combust with sun. If they are in the inimical signs, bhavas, or combust the raja yogas become defunct.

To cite an example say in a horoscope Aries is the ascendant, with moon exalted in Taurus and Jupiter in Scorpio conjunct with sun forming Gaga kesari yoga of name fame etc with moon. This yoga will not materialize as Jupiter is in the 8th house which is an inimical house and is fully combust.

If Ascendant and the Moon are without aspect from any planet the native with raja yogas even if he is a prince will end up as pauper.

A person born in Vyatipata yoga or at the time of Ketu udaya looses all his raja yogas. If the lords of 9th, 10th and 11th are in debility with malefic yoga and malefic aspect the benefits of raja yogas are nullified.

Raja Bhanga Yogas

When in a horoscope the Moon becomes lonely without any planet on either side and no planet in its quadrant also the result is Kemadruma yoga which gives utter poverty. It cancels all raja yogas. There are several types of kemadruma Yogas.

. No planet in either side of Moon
. No planet in any kendra from a lone Moon
. Lone Moon with only Sun in Kendra from Moon
. Moon wit a malefic in the house of a malefic OR Moon in Malefic Navamsa aspected by the 10th lord when birth occurs in the night. (This will be more severe if 10th lord is also a malefic)
. If the 9th lord is laced in the 12th house and 12th lord in the 2nd house with a malefic in 3rdcauses Raja Yoga Bhanga
. Moon in ascendant or in the 7th not aspected by Jupiter is Raja yoga Bhanga
. Equal number of Malefic posted in ascendant and 7thnot aspected by Jupiter Is also Raja Yoga Bhanga.

Fortunately there are rules for cancellation of Kemadruma yogas:
. Lone moon but in a friendly house, or own house, own Navamsa and aspected by Jupiter.
. Lone Moon but in a kendra from ascendant and aspected by Jupiter.
. Presence of Vasumati yoga i.e. all benefics placed in Oopachayas 3, 6,10, 11 from Lagna or Moon cancels Kema druma and Makes the person extremely Wealthy.
. Lalatika Yoga :- Lone Moon in Cancer and8th from it occupied by Sun,Mars, Venus, Saturn
OR
Vice versa Sun, Mars, Venus, Saturn in cancer and lone Moon in 8th from them Results in cancellation of Kemadruma and proficiency in fine arts and very rich.
. Jupiter in a kendra from moon cancels Kemadruma yoga.

Even when Kemadruma yoga is present the following factors reduce the intensity of the yoga:
Moon in 3,6,9,12
Moon in 1,4, 7, 10
Moon in Cancer or Taurus
