BLUE SAPPHIRE - SHANI'S GEM

Has anyone had any experiences wearing a blue sapphire? It is said a good quality blue sapphire will show its effects in 3 minutes, 3 hours, 3 days, or 3 weeks.

The blue sapphire is regarded as being very powerful gem thus only suits some people so I was just wondering what kind of experiences people have had wearing this gem of saturn

hello, Can you help me understand Sade Sati?

I was born July 12, 1948 9:05 am Brooklyn, NY. I understand some western astrology but am very new to Vedic. I know that I am in the middle of a Saturn dosha and soon to start Sade Sati.

From what I have read this is a difficult period. I was hoping to get some relief from saturn since it has been very depressing and restricting for several years already. However, if the untlimate goal is to become more clear, then I would want to work with whatever it will require. What are the strengths in my chart and how to best work with this time? Thanks for any replies!

First my stats:
Female
Born July 1, 1967
San Francisco, California, USA
at 2:42am

I was going through severe relationship issues. Really severe. It was destroyed by myself, as I was battling a war inside my soul. I was angry at the world, but instead of taking it out on the people that were the root of my anguish, I took it out on the person I loved most. Vivek. He was gone. I was distraught without him and wanted him back so bad. What hurt the most was that I hurt him. I was told that, in looking at my chart, several months ago, that April would be a month of marriage. Vivek and I are back again. I have made a complete turn around and my anger is gone. Especially the fact that I had anger and he was the one I took it out on. I am almost the person he met over two years ago. There is some amount of trust that I still have to earn again, but for the whole, I am back in good graces with him. He is looking to buy a house. It is not certain if I will be living with him. I do not know if he will invite me. I love him dearly, and really want to be married. I had also hoped to have a child with him. I think now that my anger is gone, and that I understand where the anger came from, we are having a good life again, and having a child somewhere at this point would be wonderful. Now, according to the readings of my chart made many months ago, marriage is in my favor....next month. But to tell you the truth, I do not see it happening. This was told to me by two different people on two different sides of the world who don't know each other. Does anyone have time to look at my chart and offer some clarification?

Characteristics of Planets

Benefics and Malefics

Jupiter and Venus are natural benefics . Mercury becomes a natural benefic
when he is alone or with more natural benefics. Waxing Moon of Sukla paksha is a
natural benefic.

Sun, Mars, Rahu and Ketu are natural malefics . Mercury becomes a natural
malefic when he is joined by more natural malefics. Waning Moon of Krishna paksha
is a natural malefic.

Planetary Dignities

Each planet has a sign where it is exalted , a sign where it is debilitated , a sign that is
called its moolatrikona and one or two rasis that are owned by it. A planet is said to be

Some special points regarding the results given by planets:

Sun gives the results of being in moolatrikona in the first 20º of Le and the

results of being in own rasi in the remaining 10º.
Moon gives the results of being in exaltation rasi in the first 3º of Ta and the

results of being in moolatrikona in the remaining 27º.
Mars gives the results of being in moolatrikona in the first 12º of Le and the

results of being in own rasi in the remaining 18º.
Mercury gives the results of being in exaltation rasi in the first 15º of Vi, the

results of being in moolatrikona in the next 5º and the results of being in own rasi in the

remaining 10º.

Planets occupying the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 10th, 11th and 12th rasis (counted from the rasi

We get the compound relationships between planets by combining permanent and

The lords of trines (1,5,9) from lagna are functional benefics. The lords of 3rd, 6th and

11th are functional malefics. The lord of a quadrant(1,4,7,10) is a functional malefic if

he is a natural benefic and functionally neutral if he is a natural malefic. The lords of

2nd, 8th and 12th are functionally neutral.
The twelve houses in a horoscope have been divided into four groups : (a) the quadrants;

(b) the trines; (c) the 3, 6, 11 group; and (d) the 2, 8,12 group. In each group the

relative strength of the various house lords is

(a) Of the lords of the quadrants, the 10th lord > 7th lord >4th lord > 1st lord.

(b) Of the trine lords, the 9th lord > 5th lord >1st lord.

(c) Of the 3, 6, 11 group, the 11th lord > 6th lord > 3rd lord.

(d) Of the 2, 8, 12 group, the 8th lord > 12th lord > 2nd.

When a planet owns both a quadrant and a trine, it becomes particularly useful

and is called a Raja-yoga-karaka (doer of great benefit). It gives additional benefit if it is

also located in a quadrant or a trine.
The blemish of kendra lordship (ownership of quadrants), as applicable to

benefics, increases progressively from the Moon, to Mercury, to Jupiter, to Venus.

(d) Full Moon, Mercury, Jupiter and Venus, in this order, are progressively more

powerful as benefics.

(e) Waning Moon, the Sun, Saturn and Mars, in this order, are progressively more

powerful as malefics

Rahu and Ketu become Yogakarakas (productive of Raja Yoga) in the

following situations :

(i) When they are placed in a quadrant, and join a trine lord; or

(ii) When they are placed in a trine, and join a quadrant lord.

(c) Rahu also behaves as Saturn and Ketu also as Mars.

We can find houses from houses and concatenate the meanings in some

places. For example, the 3rd house shows younger brother. The 2nd house from the 3rd

house is the 4th house .So the 4th house shows the wealth, speech etc of younger brother. The 7th house from the 3rd house is the 9th house and it can show younger sibling’s spouse.

All planets aspect the 7th house from them. In addition, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn have special aspects:

Jupiter aspects the 5th and 9th houses from him, in addition to the 7th house.

Mars aspects the 4th and 8th houses from him, in addition to the 7th house.
