let's work up some of that amazing sexy vegan muscle, huh??

What are your favorite exercises?

Mine: SKATING (inline speed skating), running, hooping, lifting weights at the gym, & yoga! Some bicycling but recently my lower back doesn't like it.

My activities include flying trapeze, aerial tissue, hiking, and muscle building. I've been a vegetarian most of my life and in the past year mostly vegan (but not obsessive about it.) Dairy foods in particular seem unhealthy. And I have plenty of energy. Animal protein is certainly not necessary for fitness.

I love a good tennis volley, a good walk, a softball game, aerobic workouts, the threadmill. I would like to do more extreme body conditioning such as weight lifting and/ or kickboxing, but i dont have the support just yet for it. But the desire is there.

My favorite exercises? Well I think it's crucial to stretch before anything you do, I have the "Stretching" book by Bob Anderson and it has amazing information on why it's good to stretch, how to do it safely so you don't injure yourself further, and how important it is to keep breathing. Then it shows you diagrams on the correct way to do it. Not to mention which ones are best for what kind of activity, and for how long.
But once I have done my stretches I love to bike ride, esspecially more recently when I got one of those collapsible bikes from my boyfriend. I've been on that thing almost everyday going all over Venice and Santa Monica!
But I also love to dance. I enjoy it mostly for a release, so contact dancing I find more open and freeing, and plus you really get involved with other people on the floor.
But my absolute passion is to work on others. I'm a massage therapist so most of the time my most physical activity is my job. I love to practice Tai-chi just so I can keep my body from wearing out faster. It keeps my back straight, and most of the physical work that comes with my job comes from my legs and core muscles rathar than from my arms and fingers.
Then there are the times when you have to leave the mundae behind you and you have to go on vacation right? Well I love to camp out, so I try to go places where I can hike and climb around on rocks and even swim in lakes.

Hi Sol Kush, your activities sound fun and interesting. Especially the camping and hiking!

I was living in L.A. near Venice when I last posted in this thread. I miss the area, I'll visualize you biking around it for a nostalgia fix!

I moved back to the Bay Area in June, that's where I've spent most of my life. But I'm so glad I experienced the Venice and Santa Monica area, you guys have it good there.

I am more vegan than I was when I wrote in before. I don't eat anything that isn't vegan anymore. And I don't miss cheese one bit, either! :-)

Wow-- you folks are all SOOO athletic and active. I am a vegan granny who spent over 20 years in a job that built my cortisol levels really high (that's stress) and my thighs matched. I have a dog, so I walk. I also do 20 minutes of rebounding and an absolutely
fantastic breathing routine (see at viralurl.com/healthiacynthia/breathe ) everyday, no kidding.... kicks all the 2-hour workouts in the sweaty gyms, for sure. This will appeal to any Vegans over 50 (if there are any more like that out there reading this).
