I have a friend who's got gophers in her flower be and I'm trying to convince her to NOT put out traps while her neighbor is telling her that's the ONLY thing that works.
Does anyone have any experience getting rid of gophers without killing them?

Sun, June 14, 2009 - 8:44 PMCan't you use live humane traps (like you can with mice) and then relocate the gophers? -

Re: Humane Gopher Cures?
Thu, June 18, 2009 - 4:58 PMi've tried just about everything, and they're still eating the crap outa my tomatoes. so far the anti gopher campaign has cost around $100 gove or take. i'm about ready to go buy a .22 rifle with a night scope. am i wrong for wanting to protect my food source? i mean i'm happy to share a little, but this asshole gopher has eaten about 35 plants so far. if i could reason with it i'd tell the little bastard that he can have more tomatoes than he could ever eat in a life time, but the little shit has to chomp 'em off at the root. i know that raised beds with chicken wire bottoms are the answer, but my garden is 120'x14'. that's a shit load of materials. think about how many trees i'd have to chop down to make enough lumber. not to mention the environmental degradation from mining the metal for the wire. think about the nasty chemicals used to pressure treat the wood so it wont rot out in a year. whats a home grown tomato loving brother to do? -

Tue, October 6, 2009 - 9:31 PMToo bad you can't rent one from a rescue and have them make a house call and pee all over your yard.
