asce, the trouble we were having over there was from a few people who had a lot of half truths or outright lies spread by the animal industry (who have a lot to gain from people thinking of PETA as "evil") as their source of information. Also, from people who thought posting photos there of a shot jack rabbit being butchered and eaten were funny. In short, trolls.

As I stated there, it is a tribe for PETA supporters and people who have honest questions or concerns, but people who only want to bash it can start their own damn tribe.

      Thanks for the support, Chopper.

i think peta has done quite a bit of good things. at the same time though, i kinda feel you ascendant. they do some really stupid crap that makes the rest of us look like total wackos.

Well, they do some crazy stunts, but unlike the vegan society, when PETA comes after a company, they listen. I got emails from them asking me to contact Starbucks requesting vegan food items and giving me links and tips, like be polite. I did. So did a whole lot of other people. A whole lot. The next time I walked in to a Starbucks they had oatmeal with raisins and multigrain rolls with jam available. They have the numbers and organization to make a difference and they are really one of the main reasons I became a vegan. I read their "Meet your meat" story about a downed cow and cried for months, literally months. I became a vegetarian halfway through that article and by the time I set it down I was a vegan.

Great news about Starbucks. I used to go there regularly as a vegetarian but stopped once I became vegan. It's good to know they serve something I can eat now. Good work, Peta!

It's all about the soy latte, Christie... mmmm.... Venti soy toffee-nut latte.... I had to learn to say that half asleep but was always confused when they asked me my name.

                hey all,
i knew that couldve come off rude, lol, but i apologize, it was meant with some humor XD
clearly theyre not really evil. i recognize what advances theyve made and battles they won.

i maintain however, that they don't seem to have a clue with some of the things they've done, and they seem so huge and mainstream oriented that at this point i don't feel they are revoluationaries.

and we need a revolutionary, not female celebrities posing naked or half naked and trying to sell sex with animal rights, ugh. please. there's no taste there, not my bag.

I'm not a fan of the naked celebs, but that is something that will turn the head of a person who will hide at the sight of a skinned fox and that's most people. I think that we need revolutionaries too, that's why I am also a member of the Animal Liberation Front support group.
