Thu, November 12, 2009 - 5:18 PMmy family dosen't "do" thanksgiving any more. it's gotten to be to difficult. our family won't eat what we make nor will they make things we can eat. so we usually spend the day sitting around people we don't like, not eating, which offends the cook ( even though she know we're vegie but refuses to accomodate. 'make an exception. for *me*' my mother in-law says) and then going home hungry & pissed off. so i think we're going to try to volunteer our time to charity this year instead. i've gotten to the point that i freaking hate thanksgiving day. -

my MIL: "can't you make an exception for *me* and eat ham just this once?"
me: "ssssuuurreeee, if you'll make an exception for *me* and eat my fried tofu, just this once"
my MIL: "but i don't eat tofu!"
me: "yeah?! no kiddin!? well, we don't eat meat!"
and it just goes down hill from there.
once she said to me "i didn't raise my son to be no vegetarian!"
she said that ONCE. because she didn't have a face left after that. and the best part was that my husband totally backed me up when i told her off. she won't dine at our house any more. awwww. =( *sad face*
