My daughter has come off worse than her sister getting braces fixed, and cannot even chew :( We have cooked soup, mash potato and rice puddings. Any other recipes would be greatfully received (she usually eats chicken and fish too) As she has to have these for 2 years we would be very greatful!

just blend all her food! friends with wired jaws have "eaten" entire thanksgiving meals at our house by using a little mini blender and just pureeing everything....even salad! it is just plain silly to not get your nutrition for 2 years! besides the braces pain does go away (and return with adjustments) so she will get used to it and be able to eat real food. especially after her first liquified fish dinner yum NOT visually appealing!

roast some pears & butternut squash with olive oil for about an hour or until their soft. then mash them with cinnamon & nutmeg.

yep but surely there is not consistent tension there.. only periodically when the braces get tightened, and a short while afterwards right?

anyway that (silken) tofu smoothie is a great one ~ even add fresh (baby?) spinach or lettuce to the mix..

soups, stews, mashed vegetables.. (carrot, potato, sweet potato).. (baked) beans and lentils.. dahls.. rice puddings..

i own a hand-held food processor which could be an ec onomic alternative if you don't own a big appliance
