I am trying to become a fruitarian (not a terribly strict one though, as I want to also eat beans, nuts, etc). However, I am not sure where to begin in terms of just eating fruit and whether certain fruits can't be mixed together. I read somewhere that if you do this, you should only eat one type of fruit, then wait 1-2 hours until you eat another type of fruit??? I want to be able to make healthy nutritious delicious meals, and want to know if anyone has experience with this and just fruit?
Thanks :D
Thanks :D

Re: All fruit recipe
Mon, May 4, 2009 - 2:18 PMIf I remember correctly, the main idea is that you eat quicker digesting things (like melons and berries) earlier in the day then the longer digesting things later so you don't get all backed up and gassy. Liken nuts for breakfast and fruit the rest of the day to grandpa driving 40mph in the fast lane with everyone else stuck behind him or trying to get around him.... except in your colon -

Re: All fruit recipe
Mon, May 4, 2009 - 5:36 PMno they are not fruit, but they do grow on trees and fall off like fruits do and I am doing this from the perspective of eating foods that are provided naturally by nature that don't harm the rest of the plant that produces them. thanks for the advice :D

Re: All fruit recipe
Wed, May 6, 2009 - 10:32 AMI know a really good recipe for desert sushi (fruit based)... It includes rice and nori (the seaweed), but it's a great fruit related staple. Let me know if your interested in knowing... I will write it up... -

Re: All fruit recipe
Wed, May 6, 2009 - 12:44 PMI will post it on the veggie page too:
Start with sushi rice: (my favorite is) 1 and half cups jasmine rice with organic sugar, sea salt, rice vinegar, and *coconut milk or applesauce (to taste)
- slice 2 banana's; along with 2 kiwi's or 4 small strawberry's into 4 parts long
- fry banana slices with grape seed oil or olive oil and sesame seeds; 1 min medium heat
It's up to you how to wrap it up! I make them traditional tekka maki style: www.vimeo.com/408903
- place rice on nori roll add a quarter of banana and four parts kiwi/strawberry...
Roll, slice, eat... (;
*coconut milk or applesauce work well to add the sticky to the rice

Re: All fruit recipe
Wed, May 6, 2009 - 7:37 PMI don't know the answers to your questions, but I hope you post if you find out.
In the meantime, I'll sing the praises of my new blender, which has rendered my diet 50% (or more) fruit. Smoothies are yuuuuuuuuummmy. (I make mine with almond milk, which I guess I could make too, if I were more of a badass).
love to all,
ali
