Few movies have ever captivated me like "V for Vendetta." The impassioned bravery of the protagonist, the poignancy of the of the message regarding viligance against governmental systems leaning toward totalitarianism, the vibrance of V's quest to fulfill his mission for freedom and brotherhood. As my first address to my fellow V for Vendetta enthusiasts I simply wanted to ask my fellow fan club members what is it that captivated or resonated with them about V for Vendetta and what they feel makes this film exceptional?

V needs a moderator

"V needs a moderator", doesn't sound appropriate does it?

Hi everyone. It is apparent that this tribe needs a new moderator, evident by the two random advertisements offering rides from Oregon to California. I will gladly volunteer my occasional time to making sure things stay on track. Just so you all know, I am not one of those dictators who lives for this shit, I just want this tribe to be occasionally stewarded.

So please send back a few replies saying "yes, Stubbler is fine to moderate" so I can contact the tribe folks to make the change. Or, if you would like to volunteer, please feel free to do so, but we'll need to go through the process of choosing a moderator.

State of the Nation

We are currently experiencing a devolution in our economy. News agency have posted statics in the best of there ability to let us know that it is not so comfortable anymore. Still there are the haves and have nots even amongst our friends. How many of you stuggle to make rent each month? Have a worse paying job than 5 years ago or are making more money but seem to not be able to pay bills you used to. When was the last time you were able to take a vacation or go out on the town to a nice restaruant with out crippling your month's finances?

It was stated on NPR yestereday that our economy is worse than the great depression maybe as bad as the Robber Baron days of the 1890s. People need to react or act at all but the comfort levels are only begining to hit the lower middle class. I have a good job. Pays way too much for what I do........and I know it is only until my 7 years old car that I have neither the time nor the money to repair leaves me unemployed. One pay check away from the street. How many others I wonder are in the same boat or should I say sinking ship. I cannot express what one should or would be motivated toward in this future but we cannot tolerate the poor becoming destitute and the middle class moving to empoverished. The land bleeds from the corupt actions of our government. There is no greater threat to our very existance than our own. They do not care about us, me or you other than as a voting asset. But since only they vote for the most part what use is it. One man cannot change the world! So how can it be possible that even if the person you vote for gets in how will he/she make a difference.....................more than likely they will be sucked up and become like those they said they would stand against.

I have spoken enough banter for now. Words are not actions.

got the dvd!

after looking all over for a copy, and finding it sold-out everywhere (encouraging!), we finally found a copy and just went ahead and bought it.

my fiance watched it one night, it was her first viewing, and she said it was one of the best movies she's ever seen. i'm looking forward to showing it to other peeps.
