I've connected with her on YouTube, and not only is she an incredible hooper, she's also a sweetheart (like so many in our awesome community). Sun, February 10, 2008 - 11:35 AMI went straight out and did the jump through! I've been wondering what I was doing that was different to what others seemed to be doing. Now I know and I can do it properly, in my dominant current anyway, which rather bizarrely is not the same as my dominant waist hooping direction! I've come to the conclusion that I am a real mixed bag of currents!!

Check out my new site with a hooping community that includes forums, online chatting, and a gallery for sharing all our hoop photos and videos! The community already has over 680 members and so far the site hasn't even been up for 2 whole months!
I'm also teaching online hoop dancing classes through the community. Each class has it's own "classroom" where you can watch the lesson online or download each tutorial for easy use at home, or better yet, on an iPod or other electronic device that you can take with you learning and hoop with at the park!
I'm so excited! ; )

SaFire is a wonderful teacher -- I'm in 4 different levels right now and each video has consistent and concise explanations but also allows us to see what a sweet and funny person SaFire is (squirrel chase is awesome :-) ) It's also just a beautiful community. I got the chance to meet several people from Hoop City at Bonnaroo but it also kinda felt like we already knew each other so we were all pretty comfortable around one another.
I just want to thank SaFire, not only for community she created for us fellow hoopers but also for being an amazing teacher, hooper and all-around lovely person! :-)

Thu, July 9, 2009 - 12:19 PMoh yes! there is no one around me who even knows what i'm talking about when i say "hooping" so any learning i do is through whatever i can find online and SaFire's tutorials have been incredibly helpful.
