I have been working with minis and twins alot here lately, but still having some trouble with a couple things. I can not seem to get the windmill. It all seems simple enough, but doing things vertically is giving me fits. I would really appreciate some videos with advice on almost any twin poi-like trick. I got the three beat weave, threading the needle, and some isolations. Thanks for any help or advice.

Re: Twin Help
Sun, March 22, 2009 - 8:53 PMI found a recent video with the windmill being done at the 1:38 mark. Something about turning my hoops from horizontal to verticle that is just giving me fits. I am trying to learn alot of these moves with poi first and it seems to be helping, but I just can't seem to get the windmill. Maybe the clip will give some insight on someone making a tutorial. Thanks a million.

Re: Twin Help
Mon, March 23, 2009 - 1:53 PMThanks Amy! I've continued to practice and may be making some headway, it's just that transitions from horizontal to verticle that is killing me. If practice makes perfect, I should be a pro in no time! :-) -

Mon, April 13, 2009 - 9:14 AMGabriella,
With the windmill, don't keep a grip on your hoops. This move is all in the wrist. The hoops should just really hang on the two fingers from front to back. If you have a full grip on them, then you won't get the flips.
Maybe I can do a video tutorial for you on these later this week, cause this is one twin move I can do pretty well. -

Re: Twin Help
Mon, April 13, 2009 - 5:54 PMThat would be awesome!!! I am trying to get some practice in with my minis and twins before I go to HoopCon and I just feel all wonky. I watched Barry's tutorial, but I think I need someone to talk me through it. You are wonderful and I hope to hoop with you at some point this summer at any number of events. -

Tue, April 14, 2009 - 7:47 AMAhh.. your so sweet Gabrielle! I hope we get some time to hoop again soon too.
This week is slightly hectic but I am thinking how I would show it to you on video so you can see whats really going on and then I'll get it down on film. Even though.. like I strongly dislike being on film... I promised Colleen that I would get over that too this year.. so a video tutorial it is!
Stay tuned.. I will get it posted soon enough.
BTW.. Sierra says hi! -
