Free space to shoot?

I'm desperetly trying to find some free space in my community to set up my green screen and shoot a video over the fall/winter. I'm getting really tired of places wanting a LOT of money for this so I thought I'd ask here for your suggestions. Where should I look in my community for some free roomy space to be used once or twice a month for a few hours or an afternoon?

    american legions, community centers, churches, school gyms, sometimes libraries have large teaching spaces, i know mine does
    pick up your phone book and look through the yellow pages...you would be surprised what you could come up with!
