Up before dawn waiting and watching
The eastern sky from my perch at 7100 ft
In New Mexico dawn comes quietly only a
Few birds and a lightening in the sky
Slowly the outline of mountains all around
Like Switzerland with houses in the most
Precarious places along the steep slopes
Perched high above the village below
I think I’ll hobble out with my walker and
Piss off of the deck - a new trick for me
I'll keep an eye out for the bear
