    <summary type="html">&lt;div&gt;If my great-great grandfather had stayed in Walla Walla another two weeks he would have lost his scalp with Marcus and Narcissa and I wouldn't be here.  He went back to Lapwai with his sister, Eliza Hart Spalding, and learned of the Whitman Massacre.  My famiily's connection to Walla Walla goes back to when it was still Oregon Territory.  Great-great-grandfather Horace Greeley Hart returned to Walla Walla county and lived there for the rest of his life.
