Yes, the Anklung is a beautiful tuned percussion instrument from both Indonesia (where I believe it originates but am not sure)
and Malaysia.

There are whole Anklung orchestras and marching bands in Indonesia with really huge bass notes where one person plays only
one note as they march.

Just search Anklung at youtube and you'll find some beautiful examples.

I have a small 8 note Anklung but haven't played it in ages.

It's just the choice of 'Doe a Deer' from the Sound of Music that weirds me out.................not the instrument itself.
