I just want to send out ALL of my positive thoughts and energy to our Moderator Dear Sweet Chum and Andy, Flick, Oscar and her family as well as anyone else here in our tribe who lives in the Houston area or path of Hurricane Ike!!!
Please, Please, Please, PLEASE be safe, batten down the hatches and becareful too!!
I know what it is like to go through these major storms and the aftermath is not a whole lot of fun either

Mon, September 15, 2008 - 5:35 PMAs bad as it is or seems like it would be without power .. it would be infinitely worse if someone were sick or hurt and couldn't get treatment because there was no power. I certainly hope no one was hurt ... and if they were/are, hopefully it's not more serious than a broken fingernail. :)
Whatever the case ... I'm adding my positive thoughts to the mix. -

I asked it she and the family were OK and safe on Saturday and she said they were fine too!!
So it looks as if our collective positives thoughts worked :)
That sucks being without power for 2 to 3 weeks!! I know what that is like...I lived in an area that was without power for at least 3 weeks after hurricane Wilma struck south florida...and THAT was not fun!!
I am just glad that Chum and Family are ok :) -

Mon, September 22, 2008 - 7:50 PMwoo hoo! i am alive!!!! after 10 days without power, we got it yesterday around 2 pm. i have never been so happy to turn on the lamp.
my mom and dad are without power still. they should get it back thursday... i am going to keep my fingers crossed.
andy left for the UK today, but at least he got to take a hot shower this morning! yay!! -

Our Lovely, Sweet, Terrific Moderator is BACK and safe AND has Power back on too!!
I know what it is like to be without power for 2 1/2 weeks after a Hurricane.....I went through Hurricane Wilma a few years back here in South Florida and although it wasn't a major catastrophic storm like Andrew was in 92? It fucked up the Power system and area infrastructure for months!!
I am just glad to hear/know that you and Andy and the Furry Children and of course your Family are all OK!!
