I haven't been able to get near a computer for a few days so I wanted to let you know that I lit a candle and sang to you at 5:30 AM on Thursday morning, just 34 years after you were born. I know you heard my song.
Wayne and I finally got to make our Bahamas journey this summer and I saw you in the crystal clear water, the bright sunshine, the beautiful sunsets and especially the brilliant night sky!!!
I will always love you

Thanks to all of Missy's friends for keeping her memory alive.
Today I remember her words..."there is a part of me that will always be"...and that part is in the hearts and minds of those who loved her.
I see her in all things that are beautiful...in the sunshine and in the rainbow and in the stars that shine at night...and in your beautiful memories.
Big Missy Hugs to ALL,

I went thru what was left of Missy's stuff when I was out in SLC for Steve and Kelly's wedding (which was fabulous). It was a gorgeous nite and Missy was all around in spirit (esp. b/c they had a bluegrass band.) Anyway, there was very little "hard" material. Most of her newer stuff must have been packed toward the top of her load and was thrown into the snow and ruined. So, if we are to put together a book, it will require some work on everyone's part to dig out recipies. I'd like to get it going by this fall if possible.

I don't think this has been mentioned previously...

Erik Yates of Hot Buttered Rum wrote an amazing song entitled "Six Weeks" (link below). It's about Missy's dear friend Lili Cloud. The first time I heard him perform it was during the songwriters workshop at the Spring Meltdown '06 at the Evergreen Lodge near Yosemite. I remember being absolutely floored by it, wiping away the many tears. I was happy to find it posted to his myspace page, and I just can't stop playing it. I can't wait until he releases it on an album (hopefully it will be on the one he's currently working on).

Just thought I'd share.

Missy's Amber

Two years ago when Missy died and we met with the coroner to get her ashes...it was all so surrealistic..the guy handed us this plastic box and I just kind of looked at him and said how do I know that this is Missy...I mean, can't this whole thing just be a big mistake...or maybe I am in the middle of a nightmare...after all, one minute she was here and the next they were saying she was gone. Anyway, he then gave me one of those quart size grocery deli containers and said to just look through the side, but don't open the container because it's all bloody...but I could see the amber through the side of the container and knew that my nightmare was real.
But, today I had Missy's amber to wear close to my heart and I could feel her warmth suffusing me with courage...she wanted to become one with the universe...to that end she meditated and did yoga and tried to make her body and soul as pure as she could...so, even though it's hard for those of us left behind, she reached her goal.

I can't believe what happened to me here at the computer yesterday. I couldn't understand it at first, but after reading all the Missy posts on the Butter board, yesterday. I realize she came by for a quick visit.

I was reading my e-mail and a friend sent a note that their e-mail was changing, so I copied the new e-mail and when I pasted it, it wasn't the e-mail address at all but this "I am floating here"

I couldn't understand it at first and I saved it to show to Phil 'cause it was so unbelievable, wonderful. weird, silly, fun......
She is everywhere.
Thanks for stopping by yesterday, MIssy. Sorry it took me a bit to figure it out.
I had to share this. I still can't believe it.

The Imponderables played in SF last nigh. Jeff & Phil from NM + Tim Carbone (RRE) + Sam Flot (spoken word.) They did "She is Everywhere" which I wasn't expecting at all, so that was kind of a shock. Then right after, Sam Flot did Missy's "Time Bomb" poem. Really special. Glad that I rallied enough to make it up there.
Have a good week everyone!

So I was very blessed to be a part of the natural building colloquium this year as it was here in TX. It was on a very special piece of land that is spiritual home to many. It's the kind of place that Missy would LOVE! Everyone hugs as a mandatory greeting and it is full of love and community. I was also blessed to camp next to a good friend of mine named Gingus. She has taken me in many times when I have needed various things. I was walking past her bus and looked at one of the stickers-up there she had one of the "Hugs not handshakes" stickers! She got it at a Butter show in Austin. I let her in on who Missy was and know that she will carry that message on in a bigger way now. What a beautiful crossing of paths...
I love you all :)

I took the tributes to Marie and Missy off my tribe profile today. It feels weird to take them down. On the other hand, I've had them there for over a year. And as we remember the beloved dead with fondness, the living dance the dance of life.

I'm reminded of the description I've heard of Balinese funeral ceremonies where four posts around a ceremony space are tied with ribbons "...closing them to forget the dead."

To forget the dead - interesting concept in this crazy world we briefly share.

Taking their tributes down felt strange to me.

"Life's like that," said The Moon.

"I leave the contest now to promises I never kept
To foggy dreams that faded fast right after every sleep I slept
So here's my will at last
Here's the stuff I've left to leave
To you
Or anyone who
May, a day or so from now, discover
What's already too well known
The maker of it all
Has tricks up every sleeve
Beyond the reach
Of any magic I can work
Or even teach
What will the willful say
Reading what I've writ?
Don't ask me. I wouldn't know.
I'll never hear a word of it."

We all come from the Goddess....

I just wanted to share that this song that I learned from Missy has been coming to me lately and I actually am using my looping machine to sing it. I got this machine 2 months ago and have been writing my own songs/music using my voice alone. I create harmonies and different layers of voices. Missy must have inspired me because I love how this songs sounds using the machine.

We all come from the Goddess
And to her we shall return
Like a drop of rain
Flowing to the Ocean

Wow,
I just googled the lyrics to make sure I was getting them right, and I didn't even know there was more to this song!
Check it out!

We all come from the Goddess
And to Her we shall return,
Like a drop of rain
Flowing to the ocean.

Hoof and Horn, Hoof and Horn
All that dies shall be reborn
Corn and Grain, Corn and Grain
All that falls shall rise again

(Chorus)

Sage and Crone, Sage and Crone,
Wisdom's gift shall be our own.
Crone and Sage, Crone and Sage,
Wisdom is the gift of age.

Note: This is the version on my CD, sung by Moving Breath.
Another version follows:

We all come from the Goddess
And to Her we shall return,
Like a drop of rain
Flowing to the ocean.

Hoof and horn, Hoof and horn
All that dies shall be reborn
Fire and rain, Fire and rain
All that dies shall live again

Chorus

Air and earth, Air and earth
All that dies shall have new birth
Corn and grain, Corn and grain
All that falls shall rise again

This is really amazing, because the "performance' (which I like to think more of a a healing ritual) that I am putting together is all about the cycle of death and rebirth, and I didn't even know about those other lyrics.

My Sisters And Brothers

Railroad Earth played Sisters and Brothers last Friday,
and I know alot of you there were thinking of Missy,
so I thought you'd enjoy these lyrics below.
Marie and Missy were definately on my mind.
I haven't posted here before. I hadn't met Missy in person.
We had emailed yet somehow missed eachother in person.
It amazes me since we have so many mutual friends and similar love in music.
Eventhough I missed her here, I feel like I did get to meet her through
all of you that love her. Thanks for showing me such a beautiful soul.
Big hugs to you!

My Sisters And Brothers
Lyrics: Charles Johnson
Music: Charles Johnson

Played with the Jerry Garcia Band from the mid-70s through the 90s

I want to say to my sisters and my brothers
Keep the faith
When the storm flies and the wind blows
Go on at a steady pace
When the battle is fought and the victory's won
We can all shout together, we have overcome
We'll talk to the Father and the Son
When we make it to the promised land

Chorus
If we walk together, little children
We won't ever have to worry
Through this world of trouble
We've got to love one another
Let us take our fellow man by the hand
Try to help him to understand
We can all be together
For ever and ever
When we make it to the promised land

Our bible reads
Thou shalt not be afraid
Of the terror by night
Nor the arrow that flies by day
Nor for the pestilence
That walketh in the darkness
Nor for the destruction
That waiteth in the noonday hour

[chorus]

This world is not our home
We are only passing through
Our trail is all made up
Way beyond the blue
Let us do the very best that we can
While we're travelin' through this land
We can all be together
Shaking a hand
When we make it to the promised land

[chorus]

When we make it to the promised land children
Make it to the promised land children
Make it to the promised land children
Make it to the promised land
When we make it to the promised land sisters
Make it to the promised land children
We can all be together, forever and ever
When we make it to the promised land

[chorus]

We can all be together, forever and ever
When we make it to the promised land

Baby Naming - Please Join Us

Hi Everyone,

Just thought I would like to share some information on an event that is coming up this Friday (4/20) in Washington DC.

Beyond being a miraculous and adventurous spirit, Missy was my cousin. Her loss has had a profound influence in my life. Wish she were here. Unfortunately, she’s not and we need to leave it up to the next generation to carry on her good works and memory.

That was why when our son, was born last March we wanted to do something to honor Missy’s memory. The English name we choose was Lucas (meaning bearer of light) and we decided to make his Hebrew name in honor of Missy.

After discussing the matter with Joyce we decided against using her Hebrew name, it translates as “queen” and we weren’t finding any names that started with M that appealed to us.

Joyce’s suggestion as to pick a phrase that reminded us of Missy and have it translated. We selected “Beautiful Traveler”.

To Kelli and I this served to remind us of Missy - a beautiful soul who was perpetually in motion, she seem to be always going some where, savoring the journey as much as the final destination.

We tried having this phrase translated and it did not work out as well as we planned, at first the problem was Hebrew is a gender specific language and “beautiful” was a feminine word. Finally after numerous consultations and rounds of translations we arrived at the phrase “Nosea yafe”.

We thought this was perfect until we heard from an Israeli this is also means “Drives Well” - which seemed in poor taste.

We then started moving to alternative name options, until my mother, Roberta, mentioned… Simcha Chiam. Simcha means Joy or Celebration and Chaim is the Hebrew word for life. Therefore the name means - Joy of Life or Celebration of Life. We couldn’t think of a better way to honor Missy than remembering her joy of life.

Our hope is that she will watch over our son and help him to seek and celebrate all the joy that life has to offer. In twenty years when he comes to us and tell us he is going on a road trip to follow his favorite band for the next 3 months.– I’ll know who to thank and who to pray to help guide him safely through the journey.

For those of you in the Washington DC area we invite you to join us for a Baby Naming ceremony. It will be at 7:30 at Temple Sinai, 3100 Military Road, NW, Washington DC

Hope to see you there. Party snacks to follow the service.

Blessings to you all.

David

this past monday, missy's favorite band [and one of mine too] played an all acoustic hoedown in the jellyphish lounge. after getting dressed, i began rummaging through my fluffy scarves and boas and decided upon the super bright pink one.

wrapping it around my neck, i noticed a piece of paper stuck to it.

giving closer inspection, it was the missy sticker from the HBR / NM fillmore show in february last year.......i chucked a bit and smiled, knowing she'd be dancing right along side us! of course, it was fitting because we all met missy when she came to texas with butter almost 3 years ago -- and after showing it to aaron, he laughed and said, "well, she found her way into the night".....

~thank you, missy!~

Your love is a Time Bomb

I found a poem of Missy's that I have been looking for since last January. It's the one the she recited at the Cotton Candy Castle. I always thought is was Rumi or Hafez. I was stoked last week when I was looking through Missy's poetry book and found the poem and words I longed to hear, and even happier when I discovered they were her words.

Time Bomb

Your love
is a time bomb
ticking,
bound to explode.
Even now,
as you are bound with chains
to money, and illusion, and desire.
One day,
my sweet,
You will be blown to BITS
with LOVE of everything.
Your torn bod's pieces
will stick to every bit
of heaven and earth,
and you will finally know-
It's all one thing!
because you will still exist,
even so far
from the form you once knew.

Sending love,
Annalee

Many of you who attended the celebration of Missy's life in SLC contributed to a quilt that my niece, Judy Beth Greene, put together. If you would like to see pictures of the finished project go to: http://homepage.mac.com/judybethg/PhotoAlbum14.html

It is a wonderful momento that I will treasure forever.

Missy and I are spending the day together thanks to her many friends.....notes, e-mails, pictures, videos and music that have been send throughout this past year.

As you know, Hafiz was one of Missy's favorite poets. I found this quote that seems to sum up Missy's recipe for life:

One regret dear world, that I am determined not to have when I am lying on my
deathbed is that I did not kiss you enough.

It makes me laugh because, dear friends, we all know that Missy kissed the world with one big, long, wet, mushy Missy kiss and a great big, warm. fuzzy, all-encompasing Missy hug...(we can all picture this so clearly!)...so...NO REGRETS there!

Perhaps her own words are worth remembering today, and every day. I know that they have given me strength.

Not My Will, Thy Will, by Missy Baron

I open myself to the will of G-d,
The flow of the universe,
the playing out of Karma.

I accept what comes
and what does not...

I open to the peace that comes from releasing desires, releasing fears,
from trusting in G-d.

Having faith...
I am taken care of...
I am never alone.

There is no separation
between me and you
and G-d and love.
There is a part of me
that will always BE.

So, I hope you all have a day full of warm memories and love.
Big hug & kiss to the tribe and to the world.
Love,
Momma

Good afternoon everyone,

My name is Erin and I live in Salt Lake City, Utah. Jay Meyer posted
some videos on youtube and I thought you might enjoy a video of Missy
chanting during setbreak at a New Monsoon show from 2003. The show was
a Utahkind benefit held at the Zephyr club. I get goosebumps everytime
I see it. I have posted the link below.

Miss Missy

Missy was on my mind throughout my day today. Rarely having the urge to post anywhere anymore, I could not stand off from posting a note about a great woman. I was wondering why she wasn't really with me yesterday and more today and it came to me. I got a call really late in the evening on the 11th, last year, about Missy's passing and had to pass on the news to the HBR boys. I remember the call @ 11:16 and then went the call to them @ 11:23. It is like those flashes in time will be with me forever. It was today, this day last year, that I spent my day accepting her passing, but helping to rally the love for her to come together at the Yankee. I guess she and I spent the day together that day and I feel that energy comes in cycles, so it is that cycle coming back around to me today. It is a mixed feeling for me as I hope that where ever she is...she is happy, huggin, hoopin', kissin', danicin', singin', makin' people smile and just being that ray of light and joy with endless and contagious happiness and loveable energy. As I write, a bunch of images come through my mind and the thoughts of how over time, she became a good friend. I still remember offering her a ride down the hill from an NYE after party, not realizing that was the last time I would see her. We had such a great conversation about change and she just had the greatest attiude and excitement for what she was about to embark on. I miss her. I know that Corinne misses groovin' and having fun with her. Well, for what it is worth to me, I feel that everytime time I see a ray of sunlight through the clouds, it is a small hello from her and the loved ones that have passed on. We miss you lady.

I work in a high school and have a different quote on my board daily. Here's todays with all the love and light of Missy shining through:
"Once you begin to acknowledge random acts of kindness-both the ones you have received and the ones you have given- you can no longer believe that what you do does not matter."-Dawna Markova

I only met Missy once and just knew that I'd see her again. I have just in different forms...I see her greatly in all of the love that you all send forth. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful and important teacher as Missy cross our pathes. She gave us light and now it's our duty to pass it along to others that need it.

Have a wonderful, blessed day folks...roots run deep :)

Lyrics by.   The Flaming Lips

Do You Realize - that you have the most beautiful face
Do You Realize - we're floating in space -
Do You Realize - that happiness makes you cry
Do You Realize - that everyone you know someday will die

And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know
You realize that life goes fast
It's hard to make the good things last
You realize the sun doesn't go down
It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

Do You Realize - Oh - Oh - Oh
Do You Realize - that everyone you know
Someday will die -

And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know
You realize that life goes fast
It's hard to make the good things last
You realize the sun doesn't go down
It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

Do You Realize - that you have the most beautiful face
Though I never met Missy, I can't think of a day since I've been in California, that I haven't the power of her love in a huge way. I have met so many people that her postitive love and energy rubbed off on and it blows my mind.

When I hear Annalee and Sam and Scott and Mark and all of you talk about Missy, i hate to admit it, I get jealous. I can't think of very many times in my life that I was truely jealous, but when I hear all of the wonderul memories and stories you all have, I get so jealous that I don't have one Missy memory or Story. But I find peace in the fact that so many wonderful people I know were touched by Missy's love and spirit. I love that her spirit has touched more people than I can even imagine!

Missy, Thank you so much for putting so much beautiful love and energy into Annalee. I love her so much and will always take extra special care of her.

I'll never forget her twirling around the rail with her scarf and that cute new haircut, singing every word with that huge, contagious smile plastered across her beautiful face.
As most of you know, this Thursday marks the 1-year anniversary of that sad day when our dear Missy Baron was tragically taken from us and our community. As part of the healing process and to remember and cherish the memories of our dear friend, Hot Buttered Rum and MoreButter Radio plan to broadcast Thursday's show in Missy's honor, so that our entire community, though dispersed geographically, can remember Missy as one.

We will be accepting donations (details below), with all proceeds going to the fund established for the education of Missy's godchildren.

This special broadcast comes on the heels of the off-the-hook three-night New Years Eve run in Colorado, and JamCruise 5, which followed immediately after. Fresh ashore from three shows on the boat, one in the Dominican Republic, and an allstar tribute to the Grateful Dead and the burgeoning "new sound of San Francisco," Butter is headed to the high country!!! And what better place to broadcast their High Altitude bluegrass sound from than 8,150ft above sea-level in Vail, Colorado?

So, in honor of our dear Missy, we plan to broadcast Hot Buttered Rum's Thursday, January 11 show from Vail's 8150 beginning at approximately 9 PST/12 EST. Buttons to connect to the broadcast, to donate to Missy's godchildren, and to chat with other listeners can be found at www.morebutter.net/radio.

There's just one important catch. 8150 is an untested venue for us, and we actually need to build part of the network when we get there.
THIS MEANS THAT WE SIMPLY CANNOT ASSURE YOU THAT THIS BROADCAST WILL WORK. IN FACT, WE WON'T KNOW IF THE NETWORK IS EVEN UP AND RUNNING UNTIL LATE THURSDAY AFTERNOON.

Normally we wouldn't stretch to do a broadcast at a venue that we haven't been able to more fully advance. But, given this very dear anniversary, we want to give this one our best shot. If you plan to join us, please understand the technical constraints and hurdles we need to overcome on this broadcast, and please understand if the broadcast simply doesn't work out.

While we do our part to make the broadcast work, please do your part:
Beginning today, make sure you can connect to MoreButter Radio by visiting http://www.morebutter.net/radio and clicking "connect." Also, please make sure you read the rules we live. If you have technical difficulties, contact us at radio@morebutter.net and we'll do our best to get you up and running!

MoreButter.net Radio--Powered by Butter!

Reposting for a friend.....

Hey Now Beautiful People

I hope that this finds everyone well.

First of all, I can't actually believe that it has been nearly a
year since we lost Missy. HBR will be playing in Vail on Thursday,
January 11, 2007. This is one year to the date that Missy passed on
to the other side.

We want to remember her amazing spirit and will have the altar up.
If you are intererested in sending a photo, a note or any other
trinket for the shrine, please send it to me ASAP. I need to
receive everything by 1/9/07 (Tuesday), so this gives you a little
time. If you need to, priority mail is a great option.

I will be honored to take anything that you want there, so that all
who want can be involved in this special event. Please send it to
me at:

Jeanne Furth
1539 Madison
Denver, CO 80206

Here is my number if you need to contact me 303.396.2194.

I was also thinking that folks may want to have their own
memorials. Maybe people will get together or light a candle that
night in honor of Missy.

Could someone on tribe forward this to Missy's tribe ASAP, please?

In love and light....Jeanne

Hey Everyone,
I have been digitizing some clips from old shows and found this old tape from a butter show. It was Missy's first butter show and you can hear her at the end of the clip. I am thankful to have this on video even if it is just one camera and kinda rough.
Here is the link.

The Mountain Got Tired of Sitting

The sun
Won a beauty contest and became a jewel
Set upon God's right hand.

The earth agreed to be a toe ring on the
Beloved's foot
And has never regretted its decision.

The mountains got tired
Of sitting amongst a sleeping audience

And are now stretching their arms
Toward the Roof.

The clouds gave my soul an idea
So I pawned my gills
And rose like a winged diamond

Ever trying to be near
More love, more love
Like you.

The Mountain got tired of sitting
Amongst a snoring crowd inside of me
And rose like a rip sun
Into my eye.

My soul gave my heart a brilliant idea
So Hafiz is rising like a
Winged diamond.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I love & miss you Missy!
My husband just got off of his ship up in Portland, OR and was driving back to TX. He was traveling down I 50 in Nevada (almost directly in line with where Missy's accident was on I 80) when he hit a patch of ice. He began sliding and spinning backwards and luckily there where no other cars to hit. The car went down the side of a slope (backwards) and tipped over onto the drivers' side door. It fell back upright and never flipped. He said the worst part was that he spilled his coffee. No scratches or injuries thank goodness. I feel that sweet Missy may have been watching over him and slowed down the accident to make it less severe. When he was sliding down the hill it was a large flowering plant that slowed him down. He brought some home and it's with our alter now.
Always remember to hold your loved ones close because you just never know...
Thanks again mama for protecting us all
Cooking with Missy
The other night I was cooking (which rarely happens, as I'm a lucky woman in that my husband is a *fabulous* cook and always does the cooking in our house) - Jeffy was away for an evening work meeting.
I was just chopping away on some garlic and squash very near the entry way where Missy busted out some ALO lyrics in the most hysterical manor when she was at my clothes swap last December.  Thinking of that simple, fun memory made me smile in the biggest way!  I could feel her there with me, and it totally changed the manor in which I finished cooking my meal.  I've heard and read so much about how much care and love Missy put into cooking, and unfortunately never had a chance to cook with her...
Any word on the cookbook?  Might some folks who have shared the kitchen with Missy be willing to do some sort of foreword or introduction with their thoughts and observations of that amazing woman pouring her magic into creating delicious food for all to enjoy?
Today is Yom Kippur, a day of remembering.  This year, every day has been a day of remembering for many of us because of Missy and our other friends who have passed on to their next lives.  I always tell my students, "Don't forget to keep your 'I love you's' up to date."  The ones you love the most might not be there tomorrow to hear your "I love you" or get your hug!  So my new friends, I love your for your generous spirits and for your enduring love for my daughter.  A big, big Missy hug!
Love,
Momma Baron
Back in January, I was given an orchid when Missy moved on.  I have never owned an orchid and I have heard nothing but how hard they are to make bloom again.  Today, this orchid, Missy's orchid, is in full bloom once again. It makes me happy to see it and I know that she is looking down on me.  Smiles!  C.
With That Moon Language - Hafiz
Admit something:
Everyone you see, you say to them, "Love Me."
Of course you do not do this out loud, otherwise
someone would call the cops.
Still, though, think about this, this great pull in us to connect.
Why not become the one who lives with a
full moon in each eye that is
always saying,
with that sweet moon language,
what every other eye in the world is dying to hear?
**************************************************************************************************
Missy loved this poem......& I love it too!!!!!
'Where Everything Is Music' - by~Rumi
Don't worry about saving these songs!
And if one of our instruments breaks,
it doesn't matter.
We have fallen into the place
where everything is music.
The strumming and the flute notes
rise into the atmosphere,
and even if the whole world's harp
should burn up, there will still be
hidden instruments playing.
So the candle flickers and goes out.
We have a piece of flint, and a spark.
This singing art is sea foam.
The graceful movements come from a pearl
somewhere on the ocean floor.
Poems reach up like spindrift and the edge
of driftwood along the beach, wanting!
They derive
from a slow and powerful root
that we can't see.
Stop the words now.
Open the window in the centre of your chest,
and let the spirits fly in and out.
I got this album (solace) a couple of monthes ago by a guy named Xavier Rudd. It's bizarre how many songs made me think of sweet Missy. There are many that I would like to share and here is one. Couldn't have said it better my self....
I guess this is the rushed goodbye
That I thought would never come
The woman who lit the light
For a family in the dark
Starring at the mirror
I see your smile through my own
Your spark embedded deep inside
Will give me strength
Will give us hope
And I’ll never lose your touch
No I’ll never lose touch
This will take me a while
Because I miss your smile
I guess I new your time would come
But for now I miss your smile
It’s gonna take me a while
Thank you for your loyal stance
Green spandex and crazy style
Thank you for the happiness
That you gave to our lives
Although now our hearts are cracked
And our tears are slow to dry
We must count ourselves
The lucky ones
For we were with you in your prime
And I’ll never lose your touch
No I’ll never lose touch
Please stay in touch
Because I need you in my heart
Please stay in touch
I need your touch
Anna wrote a lovely story book about Missy's various interests and talents.  I contacted the publisher to make copies but the cost was prohibitive and they wanted the original sent back to them.  So, because I am a teacher and we always have to figure out how to do things the cheap way, I scanned Anna's book into Publisher and printed out several copies for my family and one for Annalee, Missy's roommate.  I went to Staples and purchased bound books of vinyl page protectors, printed and inserted the pages, and voila!...a book that cost about $5.00-6.00.
Anyway, I have the scanned pages on Publisher and might be able to e-mail them as an attachment to those interested or, if that doesn't work, I can probably cut a CD with the book on it.
You guys have all been so generous sharing your thoughts, love and memoribilia with me so now it's my turn.
If you are interested, please e-mail me at mommabaron@hotmail.com.
THE ALCHEMY OF LOVE
You come to us
from another world
From beyond the stars
and void of space.
Transcendent, Pure,
Of unimaginable beauty,
Bringing with you
the essence of love
You transform all
who are touched by you.
Mundane concerns,
troubles, and sorrows
dissolve in your presence,
Bringing joy
to ruler and ruled
To peasant and king
You bewilder us
with your grace.
All evils
transform into
goodness.
You are the master alchemist.
You light the fire of love
in earth and sky
in heart and soul
of every being.
Through your love
existence and nonexistence merge.
All opposites unite.
All that is profane
becomes sacred again.
I finally had a dream with Missy in it.
It was a music festival, but there were rides like Disneyland.
Missy and Dan Braun (HBR's manager) were sitting in a giant teacup spinning, when the ride stopped, they were chatting with me "we  danced ALL NIGHT to Butter! Now were riding the teacups!"
So cute and vivid......Alice in Butterland!
... I also wanted to thank Missy B. Her spirit was definitely embracing
all of Quincy for the weekend. I had many smiles feeling her presence
and love. Her widespread impact was apparent with various Missy B tee
shirts, the altar/memorial on the main lawn, the campa Barbara crew had
made a jersey for her (Missy B. #1), that was hung along with other
passed on greats; hendrix joplin, garcia, etc. in their camp and in the
Fri. late night show. The butter set on Saturday felt especially
touched by Missy. And the tears welled up, as I think they always will,
when they played Fire Fly, where they even added Missy's name into the
lyrics.
Thank you to Jmed for getting the mile marker number of Missy's roadside
memorial from the butter boys (it is mile marker 358 a few miles east of
wells). As Doyle and I approached we witnessed a most spectacular
sunset of fire red and oranges jumping through a cloudy evening sky. As
we drove closer there was the lingering colors of the sunset to the left
of us; kind of a hazy iridescence and there was a steady lightning storm
directly ahead of us. We were listening to some New Orleans Dixie
(Steamboat Willie) and Amazing Grace happened to come on. We passed a
sign for Angel's Lake Rest Area and it truly felt like all the cosmic
signs were aligned in the condolence of the feeling that Missy's passing
soul is free and she is happily working among us. It was dark and we
had no flashlight but we walked directly up the hill and into the
clearing where her post and wreath mark the site of her accident. It
all felt peaceful and right. The wind was blowing a thick scent of
desert sage and I sensed an energy to the place, an energy, a subtle
power and presence, that made sense as serving the purpose of easing
Missy's ascension. After tears and prayers for Missy we were walking
away and I remarked how whenever I think of or feel Missy all that comes
to me is 'Thank You'. Doyle giggles as he says 'that is exactly what I
just wrote on the post'.
Bret Walburg
From Malacoid:
I enjoyed picking up Galen and Jeremy for the ride home. We stopped just after sunset
at 358. I tried to light some sage from my earlier journies, but the smell
was everywhere and the wind was strong. As I closed my eyes, a huge flower
of firework energy and love bloomed over the post. Indeed a cosmic night,
with the thunder cracking the AM radio.
From Jmed:
just to add-
when we came up to wells, an intense thunderstorm was going on.  as we approached mile marker 358, the rain came down and the roadside was muddy.  we mushed up the hill and came upon the site; it was incredibly fragrant!!  sage, juniper, mmmmm.  it was a pretty surreal 10min that we spent up there.
long live your spirit missy baron!!  thank you for everything you've taught us.
Missy's High Sierra CampaBarbara jersey
Hi all, some of you know me, many others don't.  My name is Ted and I am a Missy fan.  I didn't know her as well or as long as probably most here, so I have been on this Tribe for months but have never posted, just read and remembered and smiled.  But Missy definitely touched my life, however briefly -- I will reply to this message with a copy of an e-mail from January with my Missy story.
But this post is to share a story about our High Sierra tribute to Missy.  I am a member of a big group that camps together at High Sierra every year, CampaBarbara, mostly Santa Barbara people or those with roots there (my wife Mia and I live in the Bay Area but attended UCSB way back when).  A bunch of other CampaBarbarans (Campa Barbarians?) are in this tribe, at a glance I see Brandi, Sweet P, Craig, Stobi, DirtGirl, Kabir, Melissa, among I'm sure others.  And I know many CBers knew and had been touched by Missy.
This year CampaBarbara came to High Sierra as a crazy basketball team, our camp was decorated with a basketball floor and a scoreboard and an arcade-style pop-a-shot game, and most of us were decked out in CampaBarbara jerseys, over 75 of us in total.  The jerseys had a CB logo on the front, and each person chose a name and number to go on the back.
We also had various extra jerseys made, including several to hang from the camp rafters honoring veteran CBers who couldn't attend this year, and late rock icons (e.g. "J. Garcia" and "Hendrix").  As part of this tribute, we created a jersey for Missy:
MISSY B.
1
The Missy jersey hung prominently from the CampaBarbara bar throughout the festival.  With one exception -- during the ALO late night show, "The ALOlympics," a bunch of camp flags were raised to the rafters as part of the Olympics ceremony, and the Missy B jersey went up with them, hanging above the crowd and the band for the whole show.
The following link includes 3 pictures -- 1 group shot of most of CampaBarbara in jerseys, 1 close up with Sweet P in the middle smiling (I'm on the right with red glasses), and a smaller group shot taken Monday morning, as we packed out, with about 1/3 of our camp and the Missy jersey -- Sweet P is holding it.  Click here, then "View Pictures":
share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=9EctHLhs4YUE
I also posted the one with the Missy jersey on this tribe's photo page.
So, I hope everyone enjoys the photos, and the story.
And Momma Baron -- I have the jersey here in my office and would like to send it to you please.  Can you contact me directly, either via tribe or at tedandmiap@comcast.net, with a mailing address?
Q-4 forever and always
ted     :)
I would love to compile all of Missy's recipies into a cookbook.  When she visited me, she always just took over the kitchen and brought forth savory dishes from whatever was lying around.  I didn't ask how; I just ate!  It may be that she never wrote them down at all; I don't know.
So, if anyone a recipie from Missy, please send it to me at mommabaron@hotmail.com or post it here for all to share.
(((Thanks)))
Missy Kinda Day
I had a Missy kinda day yesteday.
I spent the majority of the day painting stage backgrounds in my basement, listening to music and generally preparing for High Sierra.  I had the random play button hit on my Ipod and Melissa played downstairs while Steve was listening to FireFly upstairs.  I couldn't help but focus on the fact that the last time I huged Missy goodbye at NYE, with a tear in my eye, she said don't worry I'll be back for High Sierra.  Now I type with a tear in my eye and her picture in view on my desk with the realization that no, she will not be at High Sierra this year and I have to wonder if I am going to feel this pain all over again.  And I have to shed another tear for Maire.  Who's diet coke am I going to sip off of in camp?  And I have to shed many more tears because I miss both my friends very much.
All along I have been operating on the notion that these two women haven't been in my life lately because it hasn't been time to see them.  Operating on the notion that they don't shop at my local super market and perhaps they have been too busy to go to the shows I've been to.  But High Sierra is where they BOTH should be and i would spend countless hours laughing the night away with them.  It think this is going to be a tough HSMF for me.
See you at the Alter.
From my blog:
Is a song by New Monsoon that was playing on my iPod this morning on the way to work. The show is from 1/12/2006 the day our dear friend Missy Baron died in a car accident on the way to Atlanta where she was going to help raise her godchildren who had recently lost their mother to cancer.
Well before the song Bo said he had something important to say and talked about what a special person Missy was in the music community and how they were dedicating the rest of their show to her memory and to celebrate a life that was full of love and light.
I was a little blindsided by the emotion and the tears started coming, and all of a sudden, from the beautiful morning sky came Missy's face all scrunched up like "why are you crying, I'm right here". And I realize that she is more available to me in spirit than I ever had the blessing to have while she was with us.
Trying to see the beauty in every moment...
Please help with memorial shrine at High Sierra!
Hi folks,
As some of you know, I organize the decorations for the High Sierra Music Festival.
This year, the festival would like to create a memorial shrine area for a few of our dear friends and community members who left us since the list High Sierra.
Most specifically Missy Baron and Marie Davidson.
So, I'm recruiting a couple of volunteers who'd be able & willing to take on this project.  This is something we'd like people who knew and loved either/both women to be involved with because it is meaningful for them, but depending upon the amount of time/effort involved there may also be a thank you gift offered for your help (late night ticket or something).
Please email me at lisab32@earthlink.net if you are interested in helping.
If you can't help in advance, but do want to participate, just stop by the memorial to make some kind of contribution (drawing, poem, momento, etc.) and/or send your love to our friends!  I'm not exactly sure where the shrine will live, but more than likely it'll be near The Lawn since that is a main public gathering area.
Many thanks & Much Love,
Lisa Brown
zoo tour from the missy auction
I just wated to share my joy of experiencing the oakland zoo from a brand new perspective.  amy g made me and my parents feel so incredibly welcome and special, and I wanted to extend those feelings to you all.  when amy welcomed us into the zoo, she hugged us all, much to the surprise of my parents, since apparently they have believed that my "unique" greeting was mine alone...little do they know there is an army of huggy freaks out there just waiting to pounce on unsuspecting folks.  my dad, at 66, seemed like a little kid (and needed one of those leash things to keep him from wandering off) and I don't think I've seen my mom with such huge eyes before (maybe as big as the giraffe's).  Seeing that zoo transition from the sad little place it was when I was a kid (in retrospect of course; as a kid I loved the place) to an incredibly diverse educational wonderland was uplifting.  Their intensive work at keeping the animals happy and emotionally/mentally healthy is inspiring, as is their contribution to worldwide conservation.  I am posting a few pics from the zoo so you can see what we saw...albeit a cleaner version since there was no way to upload giraffe spit into the photos page!
thank you missy, thank you amy, and thank you to all the folks and critters who made this all possible....i love you all and will continue to push the good vibe with all my energy!
The Energy Of An Embrace
from my daily OM:
((((HUGS))))
The need to touch and be touched is established early in our lives, as we develop and grow in the omnipresent embrace of our mother's womb. Once we are born, separated from that sanctuary of connectivity, we begin to crave the physical embrace of our parents. As we age, we become more independent. Yet during times of triumph or trouble and during those moments when we are in need of reassurance, we can't help but long for a hug.
Because a hug requires two active participants, each individual taking part in the embrace experiences the pleasure of being embraced and the joy that comes from hugging someone. As both individuals wrap their arms around one another, their energy blends together, and they experience a tangible feeling of togetherness that lingers long after physical contact has been broken. A heart hug is when you put your left arm over someone's shoulder and your right arm around their waist. As they do the same to you, your hearts become aligned with one another other and loving, comforting energy flows between the two of you to flood your souls with feelings of love, caring, and compassion.
A hug is a pleasurable way to share your feelings with someone who is important to you. Depending on your relationship with the other person and the kind of message you wish to send to them, a hug can communicate love, friendship, romance, congratulations, support, greeting, and any other sentiment you wish to convey. A hug communicates to others that you are there for them in a positive way. In an instant, a hug can reestablish a bond between long lost friends and comfort those in pain. The next time you hug someone, focus all of your energy into the embrace. You will create a profound connection that infuses your feelings and sentiments into a single beautiful gesture.
A Sign of Love at the Spring Meltdown
So, the Hot Buttered Rum spring melt is around the corner and I find myself looking at pictures from the last one, one that had Missy smiling and dancing up a storm.  I want to have an altar at the Meltdown in her memory.  I know that Mama Stace has a tye dye project in the works, and I would like to take a BIG corner of the "chill" room to put up lots of thoughts, pictures, and good stuff to bring  a smile to my face (as well as everyone else's, I don't mean to be selfish here :) ).  If you are coming, or know someone who is, please bring some stuff to adorn.  I want to dance with Missy again up in Yosemite!!!   Lots of Love and Sparkle coming you way, Corinne
An incredible dream...
I don't know what to say... I am floored by an amazing dream that was so vivid and real last night. I cannot recall the last time I dreamed 1 dream all night and was able to remember so much of it.
I dreamt that after all of this she came back to life and I guess in a sense last night she did. We hugged, smiled and cried... and then came all of my questions... First I asked her "How did it happen? Did an animal run out or what?" She shook her head no... All of a sudden we were at the site of the accident and she replied "it was much like it is now" with that it began to rain lightly... "So it was raining" I said... she shook her head yes and said "it just happened" I then asked her "How did it feel? What were you thinking" and she said "I went to get up and my body felt very light" As she said this I saw her spirit floating in front of me.
We were then transported back to a house where there were a lot of people waiting to see her... she sent a lot of time talking and hugging people but then became very overwhelmed and seem to disappear at this point. I then remember speaking with a man who told me it was just to much for her but that I should go find her. I then found myself in a room with her and Annalee... there were others there but I didn't notice who they were. We hung out there for awhile... and then this is where it gets a bit foggy and wierd... but dreams have a tendency to do that.
I was driving on a track out in the middle of the desert... there were three tracks two for cars and the middle one was a train towards a large structure far off in the distance(very reminicent of Burning Man)... I'm also not sure if I was alone here... but driving fairly slow the train flew by incredibly fast and then disappeared... When I arrived I was at a museum gathering information for a field trip.
I then remember arriving back into the same house as before with MIssy we were entering a bedroom to go to sleep when I noticed our friend Nat asleep in the room I remember Missy saying "Shh I don't want to wake him" I smiled and remember thinking "ya right" Nat slowly opened his eyes and focused on Missy realizing who was before him they both smiled and hugged. This is where my dream ended.
The beautiful part is that I have been very patient waiting for Missy to visit me and last night exceeded all expectation... I woke up feeling as though we had really hung out and spent quality time together... and in that time she answered so many of my lingering questions. I should have known she would come to me yesterday as Saturday I listened to the HBR Georgia show and really heard Missy's Heart for the first time(I also heard it in Lonetree but the tears and saddness were so strong at the moment that I didn't remember any of it) and all day yesterday I was singing "Missy's heart is beating. Missy's heart is strong. Someone's got my Missy's heart. Someone sings her song."
Just a reminder of how strong her presence is... I love you Missy!
Last night I had the hardest time getting to sleep.
Tossed and turned.
Turned and tossed.
Then I thought of Missy, and started a mind poem.
I do this on occasion, but never take the initiative to get out of bed and write down my thoughts...and of course, come morning, I can never remember it just like I had the night before...
But last night I decided to get up and write.  It didn't take long, and I'm really not overly poetic, but I thought I'd share all the same.
_____________________
Many of you have talked about Missy's love of food and cooking. I am wondering if any of you have any of her favorite recipies or your favorites that she made. I too love to cook and I always enjoy having a "story" to go with the dish. Thanks to all of you for continuing to shine like Missy taught us.
She Was Everywhere this weekend!
Why has everyone been thinking about and visited by Missy this weekend?  Because she was being celebrated by her dad's family this weekend in Delray Beach FL.  Grandma (94 years old) and Aunt Renee, along with many of the other relatives, could not make it out to SLC for her memorial in January, so they arranged a service for this weekend where they live.
They decided to put half of Missy's ashes into an urn and place it into a gazebo---out in the sunshine where the wind blows.  I wasn't so sure about this, but during the service, Missy blew thru and told me it is okay.
Steve has the other half of her ashes in SLC and we want to get some of you to take her with you this summer so she can jam forever in her favorite places.
Also, I got the most fabulous gift from Anna.  She had to write a children's book for a class and chose to write it about Missy.  It's titled, "I Miss My Friend Missy!" and it really reflects all of the facets of her personality.  Anna used pictures from all of you and talked of Missy's laughter, her smile, her cooking, her dancing, her hugs and juicy kisses, her poetry, her artwork, how she touched the lives of the people around her and ended with the fuzzy lampshade hat saying that now she is an angel.  Very touching.  At the end she included this poem of Missy's which many of you already know:
"Not My Will, Thy Will"
By:  Missy Baron
I open myself to
the will of G-d.
The flow of the universe,
the playing out of Karma.
I accept what comes,
and what does not.
I open
to the peace
that comes
from releasing desires,
releasing fears,
from trusting in G-d.
Having faith-
I am taken care of-
I am never done-
There is no separation
between
me and you
and
G-d and love.
There is a part of me
that will
ALWAYS BE!!!
So a big hug and juicy kiss to Anna and to all of you who continue to keep Missy alive with your reflections on her live.
Love
Momma Baron
Missy's active alright!
Hey lovers of Missy,
I was on the High Sierra tribe page - http://HSMF.tribe.net - and Missy's picture/icon is up under the "active members" part above the posts...just one of six out of the 467 members of that tribe.  (The selection of active members might be different depending on who's visiting when, but she's been up there every time I visited today.)  For some reason, this kind of disturbed me at first, but upon further contemplation of it, I thought it was perfectly appropriate...
Missy's an active member alright!  As active as she could be, or possibly ever has been.  Festival season is getting underway, her loving expanded family is starting to stir and might I say becoming slightly restless for the time to come to gather and groove together, and her spirit continually visits so many of us in our waking and resting hours.
We love you, Missy.  Thanks for pulling us together, keeping us together, and keeping your presence strong in our lives!
Much love and peace to you all during this holiday weekend and for all eternity,
Pamela
White Lunar World-bridger
Aloha,
I am a brother of Missys from the Athens GA. Family.
I now live in Ashland OR., and was in Australia at a Spiritual Retreat
when she "translated", yet I didn't hear about it until I returned 2 weeks ago.
It was quite shocking at first...then this feeling of NO DISTANCE, as if she wasn't separate from me.
I intellectually understand that when the Soul leaves Form, like energy, it just transforms into another form.
But I felt it, beyond words and intellectual knowing, she has chosen to hold a greater space for our awakening.
She has chosen long before any of us ever met her in this Lifetime to play this roll.
To touch our lives in the way she did, and then work with us from another Harmonic.
So with all of that said, I wanted to specifically share two things.
1) Missy was born on the day, "White Lunar World-bridger".
This is a Galactic Signature.  It is one of 260 days on the Dreamspell Calendar*(info on what this means at the bottom of post)
"White Lunar World-bridger"s affirmation is...
I Polarize in order to Equalize
Stabilizing Opportunity
I seal the Store of Death
With the Lunar tone of Challenge
I am guided by the Power of Endlessness
I am a Galactic Activation Portal... Enter Me.
Today, Friday 14 April 2006, is that day on the "Galactic Dreamspell" 260 day Human Gestation cycle.
The Motet is playing here in Ashland OR... so my wife and I are going to
dance our bodies into a state of total bliss in honor of Missy.
2) Last week during one of my vocal rehearsals.
I practice my vocal instrument at least 5 times a week.
I am a solo vocal improv singer (http://www.cornflowerlive.com).
I called Missy into my circle of Sound, and she met me, so present.
So we sang and danced together to the music I was making for about an hour straight.
The reason I am saying this, is to harken back to my second paragraph.
She is VERY available to being present with us and holding space to assist us into the Joy Resonance.
This is so important for us and our World right now, is to live this Joy Resonance.  It is but a choice.
One that we can make in every moment of our lives, even in the Times that are seemingly hard.
Bless You All in your Return to Joy & Wholeness!
How I met Missy
I just found myself thinking about Missy. And then found myself thinking about various scenarios in my life and thinking further, What would Missy do. That brought me to the thought that I should share how I met Miss Missy.
Over a year ago I attended the New Years 2005 music festivities in San Francisco. I ran into an old friend there, who happened to be the sound man for Hot Buttered Rum. This experience put Hot Buttered Rum on the musical board for me, so I was stoked when I found out they would be through the NW in March. I joined the yahoo groups site shortly after returning from San Fran and heard about Missy's effort to bring forth donations for scarves for the boys. I had not time, but extra money, so sent Missy many things (I know there is a word for this) of yarn. I then connected back with her when I found out she would be coming to the NW with some friends and needed a place to stay while in Seattle. I was living in a house with 6 bedrooms, but only 3 roommates at the time, so offered up space. I met Missy for the first time at the Olympia show (which is where I now live), when she was delivering the scarves to the boys and a few other special people in the region. She then stayed at my house the following night and I remember her vibes being so good. And her hugs being so warm.
Everytime I saw Missy after this meeting, her hugs continued to be like the first. How often can you say that.....it as as good as the first time?!?!
I remember seeing Missy on New Years this year and she was in tears. Eric has just played a song for Lily. We talked and hugged and shared. I remembered leaving the hotel the next morning, thinking that I should wake the ladies up next door and say good-bye, but knew the sleep was needed and figured I'd see all the ladies again. I wish I would have known and I am constantly reminded that our intuition is one of our most useful tools as humans, but is only useful if we listen to it's messages.
Missy was and continues to be a force in my life. I continue to believe that her physical self was too much for the world and she needed to be in a place that everyone could experience her and be with her.
Much Love Missy!
During Breathe last night at Keller Williams, I looked up and there was a jellyfish on the video projection, and I had just been thinking about Missy, holding my Missy pin that Susi gave me, and her spirit and vision shone through in the jellyfish and communicated a small transmission of love and appreciation.
I have been meaning to write this for a long time now so sorry it is delayed...
I just wanted to say how the Utah Kind group ROCKS! The Missy auction got an unexpected (and unexpectedly ~large~) donation from them. At the Feb HBR/HTHS show, a portion of the money from each ticket went to Missy AND they had a raffle with the proceeds going to Missy. So hats of to Utah, they are indeed the KIND!
This is overdue too...
Thanks Jen for sharing your adventure with us, it was so wonderful to virtually be there with you.
Thanks Joyce for sharing that Mother's Day memory, so very touching.
Thanks Sweet P for the poem.
The auction is almost done, just chasing down a few deadbeats...
I really like the "Hugs Not Handshakes" Missy slogan, so yesterday I started signing emails with "Hugs, Andrea" rather than my usual "Warmly, Andrea." So far , in addition to my Dad, I've hugged the woman who organizes the entire Spring Fair at my kids' elementary school and a woman with whom I volunteer in La Leche League--she lives somewhere down south and I've only met her in person once. I didn't expect this to happen, but I feel closer to these women. Cool, that. Thanks, Missy :-)
A Missy Adventure
“Friend our closeness is this: Anywhere you put your foot feel me in the firmness under you. How is it with this love, I see your world and not you?”  - Rumi
I miss Missy. Most times I feel a connection to her that reminds me to pay closer attention to what is going on around me in order to interact with her. A rainbow, a sunbreak in the clouds, hugs… all of these things now send my thoughts to her and bring memories flooding back… but then I still do things like get excited when I see cheap airfare to Athens… In an effort to make all of this more real and find a sense of closure, Angela and I decided to take a day trip out to the memorial and site of the accident, complete with a stop in Lovelock, NV and lunch at The Cowpoke Café.
As we started our drive we hoped for clear skies as the forecast called for rain and we knew a drive of 5 hours each way wouldn’t happen with snow and rain… our hopes were answered with sunshine all day. As we drove east, I was consumed with thoughts about Missy’s final days… these were her last vistas, where did she stop along the way, who did she interact with, what was she thinking??? Knowing that she stopped at the Cowpoke Café in Lovelock, NV on Tuesday, Jan. 10th and sang some of the HBR song “Limbo In Lovelock” to the waitresses we decided that we should stop as well. After we finished lunch I told Missy’s story to the waitress and she allowed us to place one of Stacy and Phil’s “Hugs Not Handshakes” posters in the front window. I felt all jittery and nervous but I could feel Missy’s energy in the café and hope that Missy’s story continues to be passed along as people ask about the poster. As we drove through Lovelock back to the freeway we rolled down the windows, blasted “Limbo” and sang our heats out.
Another 4 hours down 80 and we reached the site. We followed Papa Phil’s directions and parked right before the guardrail… I spotted the memorial as soon as I climbed from the car. With the snow melted and the ground saturated we found ourselves ankle deep in mud and sliding down the hill… I know Missy was laughing just as hard as I when I realized (despite my persistence) I would have to find another route to the memorial… shoes, knees, hands and camera covered in mud Ange and I retreated and walked further down the road until we could safely climb the hill. It felt good to be there… we straightened up the area a bit… repacked the dirt around the post, buried the empty 2 Buck Chuck bottle and filled it with fresh flowers, found Stacy and Phils flowers and added the bow from their bouquet to the wreath, and found another little bundle of flowers that had blown away a bit. I blew glitter all around the memorial and we signed the wooden post (we left a sharpie in the wreath so when others get out there you can sign it too). I was really happy to see how well the wreath has held up (thanks butter for setting this up) and it was even more special to see all of the additions from other visitors… crystals, shells, a necklace and ribbons… I hope that people continue to add. I also found it interesting that the only text that survived the winter on the wreath was the butter lyric “Further down the road we’ll meet again”… because that is the one thing I’m sure of. Angela and I spent about an hour there… laughing, joking, singing, dancing, crying we had our own little ceremony and it has definitely helped bring me some closure.
As we climbed back in the car and drove west the sun was setting and clouds were gathering however there were two round openings in them and it seemed as though there was a large pair of eyes looking down on us for the next 30 minutes of our drive… Missy was there with us and she is with us always. We YeeHawed our way back into Cali and I felt a deep peace finally resonate with me. We can’t change the past but we have the ability to steer the future which ever way we chose and Missy has helped me recognize my fears and step past them… “Live your Love. Love your Life” I know I am and do!
xoxo,
Jen A
I've long been fascinated by Isadora Duncan-- her life, her perceptions, her dance.  I came across this a bit ago, and find what she said just prior to her death interesting:
As many folks have heard, Isadora died unexpectedly, in a car accident, when the scarf she was wearing got caught under the wheel of the convertible she was traveling in and snapped her neck.  This is the thing I find interesting: Before getting into the car, she said to her friend, Mery Desti, "Adieu, mes amis. Je vais a la gloire! (Farewell, my friends, I go to glory)."
Javier (who I've written of in other threads), on the day before he departed this planet, exclaimed to a friend, "I'm a man now!" because he'd nailed a difficult snowboard jump in a terrain park-- something he'd wanted to accomplish.  So the day after he'd expressed that he's become a man, the day after accomplishing a feat/goal, reaching a pinnacle of sorts within himself, he left-- another 'something' I find interesting.
I'm wondering how many of us know when we are on the verge of leaving.  I wonder how many depart with a sense of completion, of having accomplished the most important (to the soul) aspects of what we incarnated to experience.
I've read and hear the story of Yogananda's departure-- how he had completed a lecture, and just after the final words of the lecture, he simply  left his body-- right there on stage in front of his audience.  Part of Gandhi's ashes are located at Yogananda's Self-Realization Fellowship Pacific Palisades location (at the Lake Shrine SRF Temple)--  a bit of trivia about another amazing one who came to teach peace.
Just some musings.
