getting started?

I'm fascinated by all the hoopla! LOL! I've never even used a hula hoop before...can anyone give me some advice on getting started? I live in the hilltowns-are there classes or places to gather, etc? Any tips on how or where to get a decent hoop? Any other things I need to know? Thanks!

look for a warm hooping home for winter

I spoke to another hooper here near Northampton about finding some sort of large room where we can hoop in warmth for the winter months (heated barn, school gymnasium, your big house, etc...). Keep your eyes open for that special somewhere that a group of us can meet.

Bellydance workshops in Western MA

Amethyst will be in Western MA (from Pittsburgh) next week to give some bellydance workshops for both beginners and intermediate dancers, as well as a performance. She is giving half of the money raised to the Vegan Bus project, so please support her and learn some cool new moves and choreography!

Hooping.org has been restructured, redesigned and relaunched and I invite you all to stop by and check it out. There's more information about what's been going on posted there, and now that I'm doing this solo as well (Vera stepped down in February) I'd also like to invite you all to contribute your writing, photos, thoughts, videos and more. I welcome your talent and input in keeping this almost four-year-old world-wide community hooping project alive.

Hey Hoopers!

Hope everyone is good! Just wanted to say everyone should post hooping pics if they got them. Western Mass Hooper Stars is very much a collaberative projects so the more photos we have of everyone the better! Post pics, events, Hoop realated stuff, anything realitive is fine by me but I would just LOVE to see more photos on here.
