Greenpeace launched Whale Cookie Bake sales the weekend of April 28 & 29. They had sent out free kits and a free whale cookie cutter to those who volunteered to have this... I had a Science event on the 29th and decided to include this bake sale. it worked out perfectly!! I made about 70 cookies and had petitions for anyone to sign. I also included a raffle to win a plush Grey Whale and a children's Whale book that I donated for conservation education. I did not charge for the cookies, but instead donated $15 myself to Greenpeace. Everyone gladly signed which was great to see..even the kids with their parents permission, and the raffle was just an added incentive and excitement. The raffle winner was a 4 yr. old boy. This prize could not have gone to a more deserving person. I hope he will remember this and have a voice for the whales as he grows up! Everyone loved the cookies I had made too!! So it was a sweet ending to a sweet cause for our sweet Whales.
