My country is undergoing a critical time. Discontent is rising here with a demoralized sense of nationhood. There is resistance for a puppet revolution though people are upset. News headlines take on the big circus of political controversies: scams, corrupt deals in government, factions, who is who. Someone plays victim turned hero; others play bandit. Rallies are held, mobilizing people to direct a point; for media to put on its plate. It is no different with show business as we turn ourselves everyday into a television novel while the oligarchs and feudal saints continue to reap money, rain or shine. It’s incredible!
We believe we need a revolution in our midst but without bloodshed. We believe that we don’t need dead heroes. More so, people who pretend that they are. I hope though that we don’t trick ourselves in this. Third world tyranny is the most vicious phenomenon I’ve ever witnessed. I grew up with it with parents hoping that things turn better by the time I have my own children – that the struggles they’ve confronted bear fruit for the benefit of the next generations. I know what is happening now greatly disappoints them.
I was 14 when I joined the rallies during the first People Power held in the Philippines. My mother and I stationed ourselves outside the walls of the government television network. Among other people, we were there to protect the media station from invasion as it was claimed to have already become the media network belonging to the people. I knew the impact of our efforts there while the threats and risks were real to me. And so, the People Power revolution came and went. And so did President Ferdinand E Marcos; and Martial Rule was lifted. With it, we believed that better days have come. Because of the nonviolent People Power movement, the Philippines was recognized worldwide as the most advanced country in terms of social activism. What followed suit was the birth of various nongovernmental organizations and civic action groups geared towards social change.
Yet where are we now?
We are as confused as ever. Corrupt as ever. The streets are filthy, forests denuded; with street children and families growing in number. There’s a going trend of gang rape; the circulation of videos of teenagers having sex. Pornographers are reaping money with cheap production costs in the expense of innocent children. It’s something we hear everyday, sensationalized or not. It’s almost ordinary to hear of these things. Then it seems that what would save us all from this is electing the ‘right’ presidentiable in 2010.
I want to believe that we know better as a people not to abuse People Power; to underestimate or over estimate it; though apparently, things are not getting any better at all. I’ve read an article which revealed that a sector is analyzing the seemingly detached behavior of the (thinking) masses. Little do they know that we are combusting in our own little corners; more frugal in managing our energies. The fact cannot be denied as well that as government goes on robbing this nation of its resources and pride, so blatantly without a cringe of shame, we – the people, are left with nothing to say anymore lest we return to a long kept list of the age old past.
One time, a girl approached me begging for money. She was 8 years old and a vision of neglect though made to look attractive. She could be a pedophile’s dream. I asked her: “If the world can hear you now, what will you say?” She said, “I need money.” I told her, “I will give you food.” She replied, “No, I need money.” Then she ran off to join a group of children converging at a dark spot along the pavement. I caught her sniffing rugby (solvent) with them.
How I really wish things are not the way it is.
But I keep talking about scenes like these: at government councils, regional discussions, in media; from person to person. At the end I wish I could just let go of the wheel and let it run on its own course. Helping people in difficult circumstances is becoming more and more complicated to fulfill. It is beyond theory and framework; and the manifestations of deprivation and oppression sprout in different lengths; in various landscapes of different faces. But it is what it is. It is a result of corruption.
Having become a nation of slaves, migrant workers, intellectuals on crossroads, corrupt people getting more famous by the day, we have a lot of sorting out to do as a people. There is presently a silent protest happening here wherein people gather together at the breakwaters of the Manila Bay to watch the sun set at the end of the day. No political talk; no rubbish. Just a silent appreciation for the beautiful sunset Manila Bay is famous for. Nightfall comes and people disperse casually. Such poetry, in there.
There is much pain in this struggle we face here, alright. But we are together in this. Always together in this. I say: there is always that calmness before the storm strikes. And silence, sometimes, is heard louder by all means.
Note: The Philippines is commemorating the first People Power revolution on February 25 (Monday, our time).

Re: Close to home
Sat, February 23, 2008 - 5:06 AMMy dear sister Medge I understand were you are right now, for I have been in the same place here. I am so glad you are not leaving for you are a blessing to this forum. I too have been feeling a change, especially over the last year, but this is different to the change I noticed before, more now than ever have I felt the depression of our country, it is becoming a broken and confusing place, there is more murders than ever, youth are running around confused for they feel this change too, but to them if they have not been taught to work with the light end up running to and use negative energy. Over the last year I have been helping a lady who has become a good friend, but she is not into light work, negative mindset and energy she had been slipping into when we met she was in a dark place full of hate and anger, but I knew this lady was a powerful woman and for some reason spirit gave me the task to help her see the light, she is such a different person now, she is begging to see things for herself understand the importance of healing and going with the flow of life, she uses her intuition a lot now and listening to her body and heart. She is moving away now part of me is a little sad for she has been a good friend the other part of me is relieved for my journey with her has been hard work, why we were ment to meet I know now the answer. Threw meeting this lady I have travelled to London and slough which is a pretty rough area, hanging over these places is what I can only explain as a dark energetic matter. The crime rate has soared especially in these areas, every time I went to stay there, all sorts of lost souls would come for help to the light living and dead. Plus I have met people who are full of darkness god love them. What I understand is we can not help everyone, there are some who will not change, what we must focus on is the ones that do want help and can be helped. There is to me anyway a feeling of urgency just now for people to connect, some understand what is happening, some don’t, it makes them confused as to what is happening in the world just now and fall into the fear. Now more than ever is so important to keep up our work on ourselves to follow our guidance and keep our connection to the Great Spirit strong .This is a time of confusion for many, some will just stay indoors frightened, some will react with fear and anger, those who use negative energy will draw upon more of it. I am sure many people around the world are feeling the same and noticing the increase in both light and dark energy, please don’t focus on the bad stuff for all it does is fills our hearts with hurt, anger, and sorrow , we know there is a lot of negative stuff going on around the world and it seems to be amplifying , but please focus on the good things ,give good our energy and focus, I know sister Medge it is a heavy burden being a lightworker, for our work is never ending it seems to be a 24/7 job, and it not something we can talk about to just anybody for they would think we were nuts if we had to tell them about our work and journey, hehe I can imagine telling my next door neighbour that last week in London I seen a young 12yrs old girl that was possessed ,she was spitting and barking at me like a dog on her all fours and no one else seemed to notice her .hehehe but that is why we are here, meeting and sharing love to each other, giving each other support on our journeys.

Sat, February 23, 2008 - 8:31 AM"I seen a young 12yrs old girl that was possessed,

This is interesting Shelly and it's good that you mentioned it.
Two years ago, I had this experience when I was sitting at
an open cafe. It was a bit past midnight. I saw a youngster
(female) who was standing a stonesthrow away from where
I sat. I was with a companion then. The girl caught both of
our attention: she had black circles under her eyes and
she was motionless like an erect zombie. It's no exaggeration
and my friend could attest to this. Both of us saw it. We
knew and felt as well that other people dont seem to notice
the way she looked. To them, she looked normal.
I would also notice people with bloodshot eyes which I
know would appear normal to other people. I knew what
I was seeing and I get mix feelings out of it. Strange but
true.
Anyways thanks so much for sharing yourself here.
It helps a lot as you know it eh. Thanks for the reminders
too - I am reminded of these everytime: to see the little
miracles happening that are everywhere. It's just that,
when you feel more for a lot of people, you tend to feel
accountable at some sort. But yes, I agree with you that
not everyone is asking and is ready to be assisted.
I, myself, knows that I would need help from time to time.
I know you walk in beauty my sister :)
So keep walking!
All the love

Re: Close to home
Sat, February 23, 2008 - 11:17 AMI understand you talk of our counrty medge which I do not have great knowledge of sister, I can only speak of my own with the same corruption and greed happening here, they (as in goverment)have made over three hundred new laws in the last few years here, its begining to feel like the hitler nation.Just last week they talked about bringing in a law at schools were children who show signs of bad behaviour in there early years are being put on computer lists as potential crimanals,we are talking about primary schools here. Big brother is everywere here watching, they say we have freedom to speak but that is bullshit. For I have a friend who talks open and truthful about chemical companies and I know for sure here phone is tapped and they make it as hard as possible for her to speak her truth.I have never known so many people on anti depressants ,there handing them out like sweeties here. They even talk about people who have no jobs will be thrown out there homes, yeh that would great eh only add to the many homless already. They have talked about bringing in a law which means every child born here will have a bar code implanted in them at birth.I could go on for ages.I too sister get downhearted sometimes, and I too need help from someone else at times too, but hey let us keep our chins up and walk the path we are ment to walk hard as it may be sometimes hehe pain in the arse actually sometimes hehehe Love you sister you are a warrior of the heart .

Re: Close to home
Sat, February 23, 2008 - 10:44 PMSomebody asked for help? I'll gladly lend a hand.
I've been seeing it on the news of your country Medge, I heard the military had closed the roads into Manila.
It must be stressful.
Here in North America the Govt's are planning to join Mexico the U.S and Canada in one big union.
The govts feel that Europe is becoming to powerful in their union.
Among the plans is to have everyone carry a micro chipped license card and you can be tracked where ever you are.
The plan is already being acted out in the province of B.C. here in Canada.
I believe though that big changes are coming soon to this world, and these plans will fall through.
I'm also hoping that enough people will wake up and stand up for themselves and their freedom.
I'm glad to see the both of you back here on Why Speak. It's a good place to be and to meet up and share ideas with the world.
I've grown in leaps and bounds from the sharing that has gone on here in this sacred place.
Thank you Medge for creating this place for the rest of us.
Peace and love always. -

There are indeed a lot of positive news around. I wish most of it we can share here. Thanks for the concern about whats going on in my country - it's no different with what's going on with the other parts of the world eh? Well, ah... never mind!
Hmmm. Bardcodes and chips? Crrrreeepy!
I wonder if silicone breast implants are any part of this 'change'
Who knows. Big Brother may be implanted in those mean breasts! -

All About Parallel Community.
Jan 31, 2008
Positive News Issue
Parallel Community is just over one year old!
In the beginning we were inspired by wise and gentle ancient elders in New Zealand. Now we are spreading across the world to people who are willing and determined to apply their energy to achieve a peaceful, sustainable way of life. We are seeking to create a Global Community by contacting people through the web who can really make a difference. Our founding group gave talks, held events and raised funds to create a stimulating website. It serves an increasing number of active, resourceful people who have come on board to represent their area or region as Connectors. We already have over forty in eight countries, together with thousands of supporters who have contacted us to help. These include key people who have networks of their own, or who can link up with others to form a local resource, connecting back to Parallel Community.
As an expanding Community we are constantly reaching out to form new links, so that isolated individuals and groups already involved in this positively achievable endeavour can come together and have a voice that will be heard.
Mainstream media manage to give the impression that the world is an irretrievably awful place, but the truth is that the vast majority of people are instinctively and spiritually inspired by love, caring for each other and the natural things on this beautiful earth.
At the moment the quality of our lives is governed by the decisions made by a few people who unfortunately are working with the wrong agenda. Together, with the collective, powerful voice of truth, understanding, tolerance and compassion we can change that agenda and use the talents of these same people to devise a happier and more fulfilling way of running planet earth.
For those of you who would like to know more there is a new DVD available called "Hamish on Parallel Community" . It is the story of a compelling 20 year journey which led to the creation of Parallel Community. Beautifully filmed by John Beck and directed by Tim Walter in the unspoiled, evocative land and sea-scape of the West Penwith, Cornwall, it inspires a renewed appreciation of our beautiful earth, our place in the universe and our determination to get some common sense back into looking after our planet.
Our website is www.parallelcommunity.com

Wed, February 27, 2008 - 6:42 AMA yellow card for farting - aw, that'll be the day! If one day farting will be considered an offense, then surely that could bring all Human Rights activists from all nations to collaborate and say Eeeeennuff of this whiff of shit!!!
But then - a bad air causing a kilt to lift? Hahaha, it could make me want to sue that person if I end up victim of that horrendous smell! -
