Minutes from September 8, 2007
1. The minutes from the August meeting were read and approved.
2. Belly Dancer’s Sale - September 22.
Vender set up will start at 10 a.m., and the doors will open to shoppers at 11:00. The sale will close at 4 p.m.
The charity for this even is Pets in Crisis, and the money raised will be split 80/20, with 80% going to the charity and 20% going to the chapter treasury.
3. Dance Party - Nov. 3
It was decided to set up at 2 p.m on the afternoon of Nov 3 and to clean up immediately after the show. It was suggested that we make a diagram of how things should be set up.
Vendors may also start setting up at 2 p.m., and the doors will open for vending at 5:30. The show will start at 7:30. There is a $25 charge for vendors. So far, Janice and Judy C. have been confirmed as vendors.
The charity for this event is the Women’s Crisis Center, and the funds raised will be split 80/20 after expenses. Christina will be the contact with the Crisis Center.
Suzanne volunteered to bring a rack for the dressing room, and Raven volunteered to bring a mirror.
Deadline to call in to Judie for a dance spot is midnight on Thursday, Oct. 18. It was decided that solos and duets will be limited to 5 minutes, and groups to 7 minutes.
Plans for this event will be finalized at the October meeting.
4. Dancing for the Dogs was mentioned as a possible spring event.
5. Christina suggested a holiday wine/beer tasting party, which could also be used as a mixer or membership drive event. This event will be discussed more at the October meeting.
6. The next meeting will be held at 3 p.m., Oct. 14.
