"In the third century B.C. the Greek stoic philosopher Chrysippus died of laughter after giving his donkey wine, then seeing it attempt to feed on figs."

Re: Death From Laughter
Sat, November 14, 2009 - 6:46 AMI have laughed for 8 hours on acid and shrooms. Had friends lock me in a closet so me being too noisey didnt make anyone call the cops. I would have been taken away in a straightjacket. My whole body was weak afterward. Especially my face and stomach. -

Sat, November 14, 2009 - 12:08 PMFunny Mr. M.
God, I wish that would happen to me.
Seems like I never laugh anymore.
:(
Though I did once have this friend who did this mock-laugh (real deep and slow and stupid sounding) that would then make us really laugh...but when we'd laugh it'd be in the same mock-stupid laughter which would cause us to laugh even more...snowball effect...but that was 20 years ago. -

Re: Death From Laughter
Sun, November 15, 2009 - 4:00 AMIt's so good for you though..Solid scientific research demonstrates that laughter offers the following benefits:
Lowering blood pressure
Strengthening cardiovascular functions
Reducing stress hormones
Improving circulation
Increasing muscle flexion
Oxygenating the body by boosting the respiratory system
Boosting immune function by raising levels of infection-fighting T-cells, disease-fighting proteins called Gammainterferon and B-cells, which produce disease-destroying antibodies Triggering the release of endorphins, the body's natural painkillers...
Producing a general sense of well-being . en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laughter : )
