but i am shopping! so who knows when something drivable will turn up. anyway, i'm at kate wolf all next weekend (anyone else?) so hopefully we'll plan this thing a bit in advance.

Wed, June 25, 2008 - 4:35 PMi've met such wonderful, wise and brilliant people here, it would be such a pleasure to meet you in person. everyone who reads this is welcome. i figure a cocktail party with music and unsurveilled frivolity is the order of the day. i'd be happy to provide. i have a cat, so allergics be prepared and take a drug beforehand. we have a large backyard with a firepit and are near the beach and golden gate park -- 1-3 blocks from each! so getting together on the beach is also possible. any musicians? maybe we could jam as well? -

well, i do think a potluck dinner and afterdinner frivolity sounds good. anyone want to play music? that can get alienating to those who don't, so i'm not suggesting the full steam klang, but perhaps a little klang would be fun. boogieish klang perhaps.
yes, invite whomever you want, the more the merrier. if it turned into a shamanic hoedown, that would be fine with me. i'm inviting a few others from outside "the Willful" as well, including some drummers and deejays and maybe we could all chip in for a good magician? we could probably get one for a couple hundred bucks. the better ones are up to $400-500, which is too high, i know. maybe that could be later, at the immediatist potlatch? -

Mon, July 21, 2008 - 10:00 PMsulevay and scooter, sorry you both couldn't make it. I had gone into deep imagination about the dish that scooter might cook up. And I'd really looked forward to meeting sulevay, especially when she got herself cleaned up ;-) By the way, hope you are feeling better.
The magician was simply fantastic; she had an unending assortment of tricks up her sleeve, but more interestingly she had an uncanny sensitivity about her - a most perceptive person, and she worked this into her act(s) by creating a strong rapport with the crowd, which was pretty damn big. During her shows we were smashed into that room like a bunch of sardines, but it worked out well and cemented us all together as a group. Personally I think she was just adorable - such a sweet person and so talented.
I really got off on the drumming myself. Some of the drummers were quite good, and I found myself pounding away for about an hour. -

I had a really great time, it was nice to see you again Charles, and also to meet Blue-J.
I wished I could have stayed for the drumming, though my friend had to wake up early next morning.
The magician put up an amazing act and had a really good personality... though her mechanical talent at magic though... I guess since we were so squeezed together, and I was just about sitting under neath her... I got to see how most of her tricks were done which was cool and not at the same time.
