    So much is said on these web sites on your blog about it, statistics, and hypothetical influences on the personality... but not even a word about a cure? I mean, there's not even a mention of a cure, or even a desire for it?

    They are saying the woman with it are more promiscuous, and the men with it are less attractive and their IQ's are dropping. That leaves the men without the infection still looking more attractive and smart till they are caught. This really sounds like a Sci Fi movie

      if a microbe evolves that can affect intimate behavior and thus raise its own transmission rate, it would increase in frequency pretty quickly i would think. it makes sense, for example, that if a strain of a sexually transmitted infection could make people more promiscuous, less inhibited sexually, and/or more attractive to others (coupled with a slow ramp up so it isn't noticed until it's too late and a fair number of people are infected) then that strain would do very well indeed.
