You may have noticed an amazing local band at recent belly dance events such as the NTMEDA Christmas Dinner /Silent Auction or the Dallas Kismet Haflas etc. and wondered just who is Wind and Fingers?
Although the members had previously performed together at local Renaissance Faires, Wind and Fingers was officially formed in November of 2007. The band is comprised of two very talented musicians who have a passion for Middle Eastern Music and embrace each opportunity to play for the belly dance community they can. The members are devoted to their art and to bringing the best where ever they play. Each member is a talented stand alone musician, but when their talents combine you get a true synergy of musical insturments and great sound for your show! Whether you need a band for ambience or better yet- to play live for a dancer- Wind and Fingers is very professional and can handle your needs!
The band is directed by lead drummer, Sean Blanck. Sean and his brother, Matt Blanck, who plays Arabic keyboards, have been immersed in Middle Eastern Music and Belly Dance for the last 20+ years. How is that possible when they are both so young? Well, growing up the sons of local belly dancer and instructor, Tatika, they started early. Sean began playing drums at age eleven and has been studying with the best and increasing his skill level ever since! He is one of the best around- just listen to him play! Matt, also a talented drummer, has taken up the Arabic keyboard and has been voraciously learning this instrument to add melody and depth to the band’s sound. With lead drums, arabic keyboard, Wind & Fingers provides solid music for all to enjoy!
