Re: Missing Wolgemut
Fri, September 22, 2006 - 2:23 PMHej Marc,
Well I must say that I'm not the same without MDRF! Remember to let the festival know that you miss Wolgemut, this is the best way to help us return next year.
In the meantime enjoy the faire (one of the best in the US in my opinion) and let us all know what's going on.
Cheers

Re: Missing Wolgemut
Sun, September 24, 2006 - 12:08 PMOf course my wife and I sorely miss you there, but it's my eldest daughter that's bummed more sometimes I think. She's a big fan. I don't know if you ever noticed her , but she was the 5 year old belly dancer that would pester the other dancers and occasionally the band. Let's just say she likes attention :) She's been having fun with Gypsophilia and the Rogues, but she hasn't quite connected to them the way she did to you guys.
The faire is about the same as you remember. They have essentially replaced you with a new trio called l'ensemble Cercamon, who seem to be pretty good, but i've only caught them once and they seemed to be struggling with the size of the venue (hard to hear them well). -

Wed, September 27, 2006 - 6:51 AMHej Marc,
Hmmm, a 5 year old belly dancer, can't say that I do remember her off the top of my head (I tend to concentrate on the music and avoid checking out the belly dancers... missed notes are not cool :-), but I'm glad to hear that she's having fun with Gypsophilia and the Rogues. That's the main thing!
As for Cercamon, I think they're a great group and am glad that they've gotten a chance to play some of the bigger venues. It is always a challenge to fill in a big space (hence the bagpipes for us) and it is never easy to be a follow up group to another group. Although I don't see them as a "replacement"- they have a very unique sound and style- it is a challenge to avoid comparisons (we still receive many comments which compare us to the Rogues) and I'm sure they're doing a great job. If you get a chance to see them again, please say hello from me!
Hopefully things will work out next year and once again we'll be at the MDRF.
Cheers
