Hello Bunj and assorted Glitterati,

Sorry for the delayed reply. I have been following the Lustre/Glitter
threads though and we are very excited about this years village
preparations! I will try to address the layout, space needs and other
Cosmic Recess contributions to help with getting our (Lustre)
application in order. And yes, we very much desire the Esplanade placement for this year.
It puts us closer to the action and allows for more BRC citizens to enjoy
what we have to offer.

In short, we will have the same installations and elements as last year.
Our plan is to fine tune what we already have and make it even mo' betta!
The one exception might be the Tower. The cost, transportation and general
logistics will need to be worked out before we can commit. We really want
to make the Tower happen and want to plan as though it will be there. But
there is the possibility it might not make it. We'll keep you posted as we
know more, but let's still include it on the application 'cause I really
think it will happen.

Here are the elements of Cosmic Recess with brief descriptions (feel
free to
further describe them on the application):

The Hoop Lodge (tipi) - This will represent the "Native American Dream" and
will again be an open chill space for our village and all other BRC peeps.

The Tower - This will again be only open to Lustre-ites and their friends.
Some other restrictions will apply.

Barbitar - The fortune telling Drama Queen that just happens to be the #2
American toy of all time (#1 is the Hula Hoop).

The Black Hole Bowling Alley - Hurl your favorite planet or orb into the
Black Hole and watch as your world implodes, sucking everything you hold
dear, into itself! Great family fun!

The Hoop Shrine - A series of planets, flagpoles and games that includes
Mars tetherball, Uranus four-square, Porta-Party Earth and the Holy Hoop
made from a hula hoop and other recycled materials.

Other assorted elements - A Stripper Pole/base, numerous Hula Hoops, and
any
other games or activities that Lustre/Glitter/AA/CR can come up with.

Other notes: We definitely will have some CR folks that would like to be
guest DJ's in the Glitterbox. By the way, love the name Glitterbox for the
bar/music venue. It fits perfect for Cosmic Recess in that it sounds
ike a
sandbox with glitter instead of sand (along with the sexual connotations of
course). Visions of glitter castles, glitter roads built by Tonka trucks
and ERECTOR sets dance in our heads!

The issue of having Glitterati "traipsing" through our camp is no problem at
all! Never was a problem in past years and we love to have as much contact
with our other village mates as possible. In fact we support having even
more connection and collaboration with our beautiful Lustre peeps. Even so
an alternate path out of the village might help keep Lustre folks from
feeling intrusive, even though they really are not. We also are psyched to
hang out in the Tazii tent this year with you all!

that will help you. I will be gone to the Desert Rocks music festival from
May 21 thru 28, then to the Utah regional burn (Eclectic 11) from May 30
thru June 1st. I hope to see some of you there!

Hey Stevie! - Hope all is good with you!

As you're undoubtedly aware, its BMORG application planning time again. We
need to get ourselves together to submit a map and application by the end
of May.

We were basically going to re-cycle last year's plans pretty mich, but
make some changes to layout etc. base on numbers, and what's coming back.

Just so you know -
Glittercamp is coming back!
Angels of Ackowledgement are coming back - and might actually build
something this year!
Tazii has been partially absorbed into Glittercamp - in that JNZ and 6
others have moved across, bringing their big tent and energies with them!
AND - We want to play with Cosmic Recess again, and ask for Esplanade
frontage.

I've attached last year's map to help you have a think about what Cosmic
Recess's space requriements will be this year.

A few changes that we would like to make, or have already been made:

Astral Lounge will not be part of Lustre this year. Astral is having a
year off from Burning Man and is still considering what the future for his
venue should be

Glittercamp are planning to build a new venue: "Glitterbox" This will be
similar in size and scale and purpose to the Astral Lounge (in that its
envisaged as a 24 hour-ish venue that hosts glittering and performance by
day, and a bar and DJs at night). Early signs are that the music policy
will be a little more varied than last year, and we may well be looking
for extra DJs if Cosmic have any people who might like to do a set.

The Tazii tent will not be a "public" venue in the way it was last year,
it will be moved back into the Glittercamp camping area and will fuflil a
role a bit like that of the Dome in previous years, i.e. semi-private, but
Cosmic Recessers will be most welcome to come in and chill-out with
Glitter.

Bittercamp may/may not come back - but it will be moved away from the
Cosmic Recess frontage if it does.

We envisage having a clearer deliniation between Cosmic Recess space and
Glitetrcamp space, so that you guys don't have the Glitterati traipsing
through your communcal areas as much as last year. If you look at the 2007
Map, where the Astral Lounge and playground is, you would have that space
(or whatever your space requirements are) for the Playground. Glittercamp
would have the frontage next to the village gate for the Glitterbox Venue,
with bittercamp next to it. Glittercamp would then have the space behind
this frontage for camping and all the other comfort-related paraphenalia
we drag out every year (shower, shade structure, kitchen - plus the
moroccan tent).

Big questions for you and Cosmic Recess are the same as they are every
year..

For mapping purposes - how much space do you need for the Playground, and
what are the key features that are coming back so we can describe them in
the application (as ever, you have absolute freedom to set up your plot
how you wish to without interference from Glittercamp) - but describing
the many features does help bring the application to life.

So - which of the following (if any) are coming back?
Tipi
Bowling Alley
Obs. Tower (appreciate this is not a public venue, but it has a big
footprint, so I need to know)
Barbi-tar
Tetherball
Four-Square

And lastly - do you know how many people are with Cosmic this year, and do
you know how many RVs or 'large vehicles' you'll be bringing? If the
numbers are similar to last year, and you were happy with the amount of
camping space you received, then I can just re-use what we did last year
(minus the Astral Lounge on the corner and Astral's camping area)
