This family is not my immediate family and none of us are related by blood but this is my family because we share something too strong to be called friendship. Most of these people I have never met, but we are bound by the fact that we are here to enjoy each other and enjoy ourselves. I find a nice area on the banks of Lake Geneva I begin to set up my tent. As I pull the poles of my tent out of the bag that I have recklessly shoved them into after 10,000 Lakes Festival, I am casually confronted by three people who happen to be meandering by. "Want some help?" they say with all caring and sincerity in their voices. "I should be able to figure it out" I reply. Despite my statement of somewhat confidence in myself, the three bend down to grab a pole and help me set up my mess of a tent. What would have been a painstaking ordeal on my own takes the four of us a matter of minuets, and in the process I have made three new friends. "Thanks for the help guys." I say when the work is done. "No problem. We are just passing on the good vibes. Welcome Home" they reply while offering a friendly hug. "It sure is good to be home." I reply as I hug them with a huge smile on my face and heart full of joy. <br/> <br/>If you have been to Harvestfest I will see you there in just a few days because once you have been to Harvestfest there is no possible excuse to miss it. A fabulous family tradition for all who attend, Harvestfest will change the way you think about festivals. Held within the hallowed grounds of Harmony Park this magical campground is the perfect venue for this beautiful gathering of loving, caring, miraculous people. Canopied by a lush grove of giant oak, this park has a magical quality to transport any person that enters into another land. The Land of Make Believe. This transportation takes you to a place where fairies, and pirates and Capitan Planet can all exist in one singular realm. An all-accepting atmosphere, you can play any character that you can possibly think of. I am still thinking of being a Smurf, or maybe a Ninja Turtle we will see what kind of state of mind I am in. <br/> <br/>For 14 years Harvestfest has existed in one form or another, always taking place in spell binding Harmony Park. Harvestfest is hosted by Wookiefoot who tries to make this into an experience instead of just another rock show. With a maximum capacity of about 3000, Harvestfest is a smaller festival that allows the attendees the opportunity to get to know one another and enjoy the festivities of the festival. "Fire dancing, Drum circle, parades, spiral dancing, Kiddie village, the welcome home crew who greet you with bubble baths and glitter all set a vibe" says JoJo of Wookiefoot. Harvestfest promotes such a welcome open felling of togetherness that there are always a couple wedding going on too. The fact that two people that are in love would want to share one of the happiest days of there lives with 3000 people, many of whom they have never been introduced, shows just how close this family is. <br/> <br/>Would you believe, that along with the incredible atmosphere and the tremendous amount of love that is felt at this little festival that there is music too? 25 bands to be exact. With many of the bands from last year coming back to help create the essence of what this festival is, there will also be some new bands coming into the mix to shake things up a bit. "Last year we hit the peak of our vibrational vision." Remarked JoJo of Wookiefoot "At the end of our set the crowd wouldn't stop chanting " everything's gonna be alright" over and over, then picked up all the trash in front of the stage. We all cried it was amazing and deeply healing and I knew then that there is no higher place... we have arrived. Our goal now is to maintain this portal and we have discovered a few powerful allies in doing this!! Having music with a message is paramount and musicians who walk the talk even more so!! The Arrested Development tribe is teaching us the meaning of "life Music" they have become an example to us, and good friends. The Al l Mighty Senators honestly have an open invite to anything we do!! They have the magic of super play and fun and this invaluable part of the alchemy. We have visualized the movement of energy from one band to the next. I can say with delightful confidence the 10 new bands in concert with 15 faithfuls will spin a deep release and feet will be fly'n!!" Feet and spirits. <br/> <br/>Harvestfest is the last festival of the season. It is one last chance to enjoy the company of all the friends that you have made on your journey through the festival scene this summer and one last chance to make some new festifriends. The response from the fans and family was overwhelming and beautiful. <br/> <br/>And if you didn't know, here's the feel good moment you've been waiting for!! In 2006 Project Earth was born as a 100% Charity Fund Raiser. Now, the upcoming 2006 Harvest Fest, the Trans-Cosmic Tribadelic Space Carnival, will also take all parking fees ($5 per car or more if you want to give more), and put that towards the Wookiefoot charities. <br/> <br/>Included in, but not limited to, the Wookiefoot list of charity work is: <br/>Hoste Hainse Schools- Nepal <br/>Promoting "Education for All", Hoste Hainse believes that education is the required foundation for the task of building the nation. Since its inception, Hoste Hainse has focused on supporting deprived and underprivileged children in their struggle for education. <br/> <br/>Cambodia Land Mine Museum Relief Fund <br/>The mission is to decrease land mine casualties and contribute to land mine survivor rehabilitation in Cambodia. The Land Mine Museum was founded by Aki Ra, a Cambodian ex-child soldier who has helped to clear some six thousand mines and unexploded ordinance. The Center will employ land mine educational consultants and technicians contracted to travel to mined communities in an effort to teach farmers and school children land mine safety. In addition, the new facility will provide a small dormitory and a school for child survivors of land mine causalities. <br/> <br/>Vangviang Organic Farm - Laos <br/>The profits from this farm are used to fund several community projects that support and educate the people who live in Phoudindaeng village. First, we help to teach the local farmers about the advantages of organic farming. In addition, we have led in the building of a local community center and we obtained a school bus to take the children to school each day. Our community projects have succeeded because they combine the talents and energies of foreign volunteers with the efforts of the villagers themselves. <br/> <br/>The American Refugee Committee - World Wide <br/>Today, ARC works in 10 countries around the world helping victims of war and civil conflict rebuild their lives.
