For those of you still listing a fair amount on eBay, how are sales?
I glanced through some listings and it still seemed pretty slow.

Re: eBay Sales?
Mon, February 6, 2006 - 4:07 PMBut I'll bet that you, Teresa and Laura, are doing fine on abu.
:)
My position is certainly not very enviable as I am selling small and low-priced items. -

Re: eBay Sales?
Mon, February 6, 2006 - 4:13 PMI have a couple bids on ABU. I sold several prints recently on there so that is good (pure, tho' small, profit).
If I list really low, they come out & bid on ebay. When I glance through the art listings, there is so much fantastic art without bids. I don't take it personally, but I would like to see some improvement.
I am considering an FP. I sold a couple zen pieces recently and I have a zen cat that will expire on ABU on the 12th. Or more FPs on ABU. To tell you the truth, I feel a little paralyzed. I don't know where to list or what features are worth springing for. Many days, I don't end up listing anything.

Re: eBay Sales?
Mon, February 6, 2006 - 4:54 PMI am going to fp a nude tonight.
I haven't created the painting yet but have it planned out.
;)
It will be a small size but I will start it at $19.00 and hopefully it will be bid up quite a bit.
I have alot of plans for strategizing on ebay.
One of my plans is to introduce alot of new subject matter, which will be an artistic challenge for me that I am looking forward to.
I hope that this plan comes to fruition.
lol
I also hope that I will become truly inspired by new subject matter.
Inspiration is key for me to create art that is good.
I have 2 upcoming commissions that I am looking forward to.
One of the commissions is of a tree from a repeat buyer.
I am soooo very pleased about this!
:-)
My lack of success with abu is not good for my ego.
;)
I loathe the thought of putting artwork up for sale there, although I know it is wise to do, from a marketing viewpoint. -

Re: eBay Sales?
Mon, February 6, 2006 - 5:22 PMThe new subject matter, whatever it is, should do well for you. Your style is so distinctive and I know people follow your work.
I am lucky to live in an area where there is a lot of diverse terrain around me (different types of trees, shoreline, etc.). There is always something to inspire me.
I may try an FP for a lower-priced piece. I tried pricing a charity auction low on ebay recently. All that happened was two of my collectors bid on it because of the cheap price. It only bid up $1, which was still $10 - $20 less than my usual starting bid AND I had a big charity donation to make on top of it. Fortunately, I had sense enough not to try it on a piece I was very fond of. I only broke even on supplies/materials/shipping/fees but that was OK for the one. With an FP, even if I break even, I should get higher hits.

Re: eBay Sales?
Tue, February 7, 2006 - 12:28 PMRight now I have two pieces with bids on ABU, but neither has hit the reserve. Most of my listings there get very few hits and do not sell. On ebay I get more views, but not necessarily more bids unless I price very low with no reserve.
My last oil on gallery canvas on ebay only bid up to like $39. The reserve was $99. Thankfully I had a reserve!
I am not listing much on ebay just because I am not making enough to justify the fees. I think my Jan. fees were as much as my sales.
