We are a group of artists, drawn together by our love for yoga, art, healing arts, co-creation, community and music. We are currently creating a project for both, Burningman and Critical Mass, this year 2007. Temple Philosophy

The Body Temple provides a space to share techniques that catalyze everyone’s opportunity to transform to the utmost extent during the cathartic event that is the burn. During the day, we open the Temple to body and energy work and spiritual practice, including yoga, Reiki, tantra, meditation, shamanism, kabbalah, and any other healing arts playa citizens may offer. It’s the process of growing roots: studying the modern manifestations of ancient traditions that give us stamina to embrace the changes that wash over everyone at the burn.

Every day this body in Guru Pranam puts down roots, sinks way deep down into the playa. Everyone who comes for yoga or tantra or kabbalah becomes part of this collective body that drinks from the roots of the Temple. The playa wants us to drink deep from this source, because at night, it flowers with the expression of music and dance. The artistry and celebration gathered there is a manifestation of the earth - given light, life and motion.

At night Temple visitors reach for the sky like petals of a flower turn toward the sun, and bloom with creative expression. We celebrate the gift of the earth’s energy and let it fill us with joy and ecstasy. The Body Temple altar becomes a stage, the open space a dance floor, and we welcome musicians and DJs from Seattle and beyond for music, ecstasy and dance. At dawn there is a sunrise ceremony including chanting led by a phenomenal singer, and we move into meditative space for the morning.

Everyone at Burning Man is part of this process. Everyone becomes an expression of the playa. Everywhere they go, this is true. What the Body Temple adds is simply a place to strengthen and expand spiritually, to make the process of breathing the breath of this land that much more complete, and that much more fulfilling. Everyone who enters the Body Temple becomes a conscious part of this process and shares more tools of drawing from the earth’s well and giving expression to its generative force with reverence.
