I noticed that our 360 locked up a couple times last night, although it seems that the system was not running hot. We tried to keep it well ventilated. Anyone else with similiar problems?

I've had problems with my original XBox locking up since I got it. I was hoping that this new version wouldn't have that problem but maybe it does. Makes me want to rethink spending my $399.
Is that just a Microsoft thing? Same with their computer programs - when it locks up on you all you can do it turn the system off and start over. I hate that.
Hope it doesn't keep happening to you. -

Wed, November 23, 2005 - 1:40 PMI have been poking on it a bit more, and I think that the problem lies in some form of corruption with my profile. NFSMW seems to only lock up when I have my profile loaded, while it works fine when other people play.
Perhaps my blantant disregard for motor safety has cursed me. -

Mon, November 28, 2005 - 1:23 PMI have not gotten my hands on a 360 yet, but I just put down a deposit for one at the local EB Games. The guy tried to sell me on a product replacement plan -- 1 year for $40 -- and told me that about 10% of the units they have sold have come back with these kinds of problems.
Of course, that made me wonder whether I should be getting a 360 at all...I'm probably going to do the product replacement plan, if the failure rate is that high. -

Sun, January 13, 2008 - 2:47 PMI actually bought the 'replacement' edition--or as Microsoft calls it, the "Arcade" edition 360 as a replacement. I'll use the fixed one as a backup when I get it because I know people who have had their repaired 360s red ring a year later.
