I know we've got Cosmic Bowling coming up, and I know May is going to be a busy month for the XSLers. However, I want to plan a date for the XSL Watersports tournament which will be taking place at the pool at my apartment complex. Yes, we'll be bringing our madness to the masses by virtue that the apartment complex overlooks the swimming pool.
The idea behind XSL watersports is that I have access to a pool that is heated and will be awesome for some aquatic sports. I'm thinking Water Volleyball, Synchronized Swimming, and whatever else we can imagine. Plus, there's a small barbecue pit that we can make some meals on and even a pool table, which sounds like it could be a watersport, but really isn't.
So, I'm thinking Saturday, May 17th, unless someone can come up with a reason why that won't work. I need to reserve the clubhouse, so let me know as soon as possible whether this date will rock your world.
THIS WILL BE FOR POINTS!

The only way to get more pts is by having more events, I'm glad that you get it...f*cken pts whore.
I'm thinking Water Volleyball, Synchronized Swimming, and for the main event...Chiken Fights. -

Re: XSL Watersports
Sun, April 27, 2008 - 6:23 PMChicken Fights! well ding dang ditty.... if that ain't a good ole pool game i reckon I don know what is! I would like to make the motion that we have teams for points in a 3 round tourny. 2 rounds of capture the rubber ducky and 1 last man standing. -
-
Re: XSL Watersports
Sun, April 27, 2008 - 6:53 PMI wasn't sure exactly what Chicken Fights were until I looked 'em up on this blessed Internet.
www.ehow.com/how_13559_h...-fights.html
Sounds like an awesome idea, but its probably got to be the last event, just in case we get kicked out! -

Re: XSL Watersports
Sun, April 27, 2008 - 7:02 PMRule #1 There is no Chicken Fight Club
Rule #2 There is no Chicken Fight Club
Rule #3 If it's your first night you have to Chicken Fight.

Yes, chicken fights would have to be the last and main event, the big problem is that they are really loud. But, I'm thinking two man teams with a single elimination format. Once you lose..your out of the tournament.
Capture the rubber ducky...I like that! -

Re: XSL Field Trip to Derby Doll Bout
Mon, April 28, 2008 - 8:13 AMMay 17 is the next Derby Doll bout!
After that their next in town is June 7...
So, Kommittee, can I post for June 7th since the pool gig is on May 17, their next bout? -

Mon, April 28, 2008 - 8:19 AMWill shirtcocking be allowed ?? -
-
Re: XSL Field Trip to Derby Doll Bout
Mon, April 28, 2008 - 9:12 AMUnfortunately, due to the location of my pool (overlooked by my apartment complex), shirt cocking will not be allowed, nor will the exposure of genitalia above the water line. What you do under the water is your own damn bizness. -

Mon, April 28, 2008 - 3:38 PMCan it be on a different date? I've got 2 things going that day; one is that I've got to work (dammit!) and another is that my parents will be visiting (from Virginia) to see us (well, really to see FreeJammin, but I should be there to supervise) -

Re: XSL Watersports
Thu, May 1, 2008 - 5:06 PMWould it work better for people if we did it on the 24th? I started this thread in order to find out if the date is going to work for people. If not, then its pretty easy to change. The invite hasn't even gone out yet. The goal is to get as many people to participate as possible. Otherwise I'm going to being playing my own version of pocket pool and taking all of the points myself. -
-
Re: XSL Watersports
Thu, May 1, 2008 - 5:11 PMOr even better: We select random objects in the bowling alley (anything but the pins) and then we do a scramble until someone hits the object with the bowling ball. -

Re: XSL Watersports
Sun, May 4, 2008 - 2:06 PMIf we can't rig a net for Volleyball, we can always play water polo, water dodgeball, or water relay race. -

Re: XSL Watersports - sorta original game ideas
Sun, May 4, 2008 - 2:26 PMMaybe a walk on water? - (long jump across the pool without hitting the other side)
Wet T-shirt cocking? - (extra points for hard nips and shrunken sausages)
Don't pee on mee? - (not sure what to do with this one)
------------------------------------------------
Maybe a little side bet on how long it takes before a neighbor gets annoyed and calls the cops? **
**This type of activity is not for points or endorsed by XSL moral standards. Just a side wager for cash -

Re: XSL Watersports - sorta original game ideas
Sun, May 4, 2008 - 2:49 PMDepending how long we have the clubhouse for, we can also have a billards or poker tournament. I still love the idea of "Capture the Rubber Ducky". I can just imagine everybody with their eyes closed trying to find the rubber ducky in the pool.
-
Re: XSL Watersports - sorta original game ideas
Sun, May 4, 2008 - 2:52 PMI'm ordering the volleyball net today, so that shouldn't be a problem. I like FireToy's ideas, although I'm a bit grossed out by "Don't Pee on Me". Maybe we can call it "Find the Warm Wet Spot". I don't think there will be any cop problems, as long as the pants stay on. My complex is pretty laid back. -

Re: XSL Watersports - sorta original game ideas
Sun, May 4, 2008 - 8:15 PMis synchronized swimming a team, duo or individual sport?
how about diving for dollars? you have to pick up without yer fingers or toes...
I'll bring a roll... -
-
Re: XSL Watersports - sorta original game ideas
Sun, May 4, 2008 - 10:27 PMIts funny, out of all of the events that we've brainstormed for "Watersports", synchronized swimming is the one that everybody keeps talking about. This event will be an exihibition by all who want to participate in it. Everybody on the synchronized swimming team will get a set amount of pts for their demonstration which of course will be to music. -
-
Re: XSL Watersports - sorta original game ideas
Fri, May 9, 2008 - 5:14 PMI just scored 6 diving rings. We throw them in the pool and each player is timed at they get them and bring them back. (Insert zany rule here) Also, if anyone wishes to enter the swimsuit competion...you have to wear someone else's to enter. -
-
Re: XSL Watersports - sorta original game ideas
Sat, May 10, 2008 - 8:44 AMI love the swimsuit idea!
Okay. Fine... But if a gurl wears a guys trunks, or speedos , uh, are we gonna get in trouble? I mean we don't have to trade with the same sex, do we?
and we should tie some kind of meat tube, like a dog, or something that you have to bite off and bring up from the rings instead of bringing the whole ring back up...
just to make it weirder... -
-

Re: XSL Watersports - sorta original game ideas
Sat, May 10, 2008 - 2:20 PMI think the swimsuit competition should be a team sport. The two people who switch suits are counted as a team. The best looking team wins! We might have to do something for breast coverage, but we'll figure it out! -
-
Re: XSL Watersports - sorta original game ideas
Sat, May 10, 2008 - 2:23 PMPasties! Maybe with little tassels on them. -

Re: XSL Watersports - sorta original game ideas
Sat, May 10, 2008 - 3:57 PMSo, I posted an invite to the SDBurners Yahoo Group and the Tribe group. I figure this would be a great way to recruit some new people into the XSL, just like when we pull people in during Sunrise Golf. Hopefully it will work out. As Bobby told me after he changed the event listing from Private: "we now have a public event. God help us! " -
-
Re: XSL Watersports - sorta original game ideas
Sat, May 10, 2008 - 4:00 PMYeah, Gawd help us Cable...hopefully you won't get kicked out of your complex!
Oh, and btw...I am curious about something...didn't u say awhile back when we were talking about white water rafting that you couldn't swim? If that's the case...WHAT IN THE HELL are you doing hosting a watersports event????? LOL
-
-
Re: XSL Watersports - sorta original game ideas
Sat, May 10, 2008 - 4:08 PMYeah, I can't swim, but I can float! Hopefully all of the events will be in the shallow end.
I'm not too worried about a deluge of people. I figure we might pick up 4 or 5 people who think it sounds like fun. If it ends up being larger, well... I think the capacity is around 100 people, but that many people won't find parking in my neighborhood. It should be self-regulating. -
-
Re: XSL Watersports - sorta original game ideas
Sat, May 10, 2008 - 4:13 PMCable can't swim, but he organized this year's "WaterSports" competition...now that's funny. I think it's bullsh*t, he just wants people to perform CPR all day. -
-
Swimming Lesson
Sat, May 10, 2008 - 4:35 PMAt 11am sharp we will have a basic swimming workshop which will include sinking like a stone, drinking clorinated water, and screaming for help. -

Sat, May 10, 2008 - 4:41 PMyou forgot the most important----the Greeter Station will be set up with "Welcome to our OOL....notice that there's no "P" in Pool...let's keep it that way" -

After Party Poker Tournament
Sat, May 10, 2008 - 5:05 PMHey, who wants to play Texas Hold'em where each player gamples thier pts? I'm thinking 30 pts buy-in gets you a $1,000 in chips.
