OT - Historic hair styles

topic posted Mon, January 14, 2008 - 7:27 AM by  marv
Hello,
My daughter is doing a school project on historic hairstyles 1900-1950. Just wondering if this group has any recommendations for good resources : books, web sites, product....etc...especially looking for hair rats now. Thanks for any advice

My wife is in this field professionally. The decades she is covering are all very distinct, style-wise.

Two books to look for - though they will be expensive to buy - are:

Women's Headdress & Hairstyles in England, by Georgine de Courtais ($18.xx)

Fashions in Hair, by Richard Corson ($78.45)

A website that will help, and is an accurate source, is:

    www.fashion-era.com/hats-hair/index.htm

(earlier periods are linked at the bottom of the page)
