Incredibly stubborn and self-sufficient, they need to be treated gently and with great trust and respect. An Yma "does what it wants", often to the chagrin of friends and family, often in the face of knowledge that it isn't the best way. But alas, an Yma has to find that out for itself, and usually the hard way.
Ymas are however quick, creative and nimble learners.
They have many near-death / rebirth experiences and are often affectionately called phoenix-ocean-tigers(tm) to those who study them.
If you want to have an Yma in your life, the challenges and rewards can be great. I'll include some recommendations for their care given to me by a dear personal friend Yma, Amy.
