New to Chicago

Hi all,

I recently moved to Chicago and looking to not only meet people but also find some yoga and meditation classes downtown. Anyone know if there are yoga related events in the city? Love the help and advice! Thanks!

    grab a copy of Yoga Chicago magazine - they are at whole foods markets come out every other month. pretty packed with info.

      I was at a Svaroopa yoga weekend with the originaltor.

      and a gal came from a chicago yoga magazine, i think.

      to do an article of it.

    In the south loop area is a place called Core Studio..it's fairly new, the teachers are all pretty excellent, and the space is really nice:

    Then up in the gold coast area is a place called Yoga Now, they have a variety of things going on:

    Then there are two places where I teach (I highly recommend me! he he he!):
    Nature Yoga Sanctuary (Wicker Park area): www.natureyoga.com
    Moksha Yoga (Lincoln Park and River West): www.mokshayoga.com

    Chicago is the first place where yoga was revealed in the USA at the World's Fair over a hundred years ago, so cheers to us!

      i highly recommend the teachers at yogaview, too. on clybourn near webster.

      claire mark - quinn kearney - i believe quinn does a bit of meditation there as well.

        I really like Moksha....I just started going to the one on Clark St. The Kriyanada center in Logan Square is also very nice if you want to learn more about the philosophy of yoga.
