Hi
I work for an acupuncture studio, and the owner would like to start offering sliding scale yoga classes. (The acupuncture is also sliding scale- we're big on affordable holistic health care.)
As her assistant, it's my job to do all the research and figure out how this is going to work. :)
Any suggestions as to yoga resources in Chicago to check out?
Some specific questions:
-how much $ is standard to pay a yoga instructor?
-are there specific websites that we could post an "instructor wanted" ad on, besides craigslist?
-how much would YOU like to pay for a sliding scale class?
Thanks! I'll be sure to post again with the info when we get this up and running! :)

Re: Advice on starting sliding scale yoga in Chicago?
Fri, March 7, 2008 - 7:35 AMHi Dianne,
Studios generally charge at least $10 per class up to $16 for regularly scheduled classes that are not workshops. You could set the standard rate at @ $15 and work with the scale dropping down to about $6 for those who really can't afford it and even lower if you can afford it. Where are you guys located in Chicago?

Fri, March 7, 2008 - 12:11 PMHi Katrina
Thanks for the info! $5-15 sounds good, we really want to make sure that it's affordable to people who don't normally take classes because of the cost.
We're at 2023 W. Carroll Ave, near Grand&Damen.
Our website's www.redfloweracupuncture.com
Now, to find an instructor......
