Burlesque Inspired workshop

topic posted Mon, April 28, 2008 - 10:27 AM by  Cely
Hello everyone. Does anyone happen to have recorded video of this workshop for spirit of the tribes this past weekend? I'm trying to remember the sequence and my notes aren't really helping. If so, can someone pretty please send it to me??? I'd REALLY appreciate it!

Thanks!

No video, but I kinda remember the beginning sequence. Here we go in Mo language:
Begins with R leg poised on L diagonal. When music starts walk hands to knee then shimmy torso over and back, then walk hands beyond knee down the shin and bend torso all the way over flipping hair over and then back then sit your butt turn over your L shoulder to face front and R arm pose then L arm pose then both in wide V over head and kinda melt after hands flip....then something and you face stage R diagonal let the first 2 beats go and then head slide RL, shoulder tics RL, chest lift drop, and (I don't remember what came next). Then a shimmy moving all the way from chest to booty, staying on your booty for a little extra time....something else and then swoop the hands across body, extend your L leg hold and then melt....then somewhere in there theres that ronde jambe tango leg sweep thing...then the arms go up and there's that deep undulation and reverse then down roll up/uproll down, place the hands and tango walk til drop to a little ball on the floor with the beat and then look to the side before shimmy booty back up again. Then step R foot back and then L foot jazz slide side with back tot he audience....and then I don't remember anything until the walk back pose, hip drop and flick the hand combo.
Anywho, maybe this will help until her real notes are posted :)
I thought this was a really fun workshop too...sassy meow

I threw in the "glossary" for those of us (including myself) who are not of dance background. One of my teachers started using the official dance words & it's easier to write, but I clarified if you didn't know. :)
