Drilling better smarter faster!
Lets get to the root of it all! Tribal fusion drills for your personal practice at home. This is the meat and potatoes of it all, your "Dance Spine"...Information to use all year!
We will use specific pilates and yoga based exercises to strengthen the core muscles necessary for backbends, belly rolls, and tight hip work. Hip, head, shoulder and chest isolations will be drilled, as well as working on smoothing transitions from move to move. We will go over lots of pop-lock technique, as well as fluidity of movement, stressing on posture and upper body awareness. And you will sweat!!!!

Shimmy and Spin!
Shim Sham Shimmy! Pt. 1-Layering, walking, combinations, lots of tips and tools of the trade to get your absolute best shimmy ever! 3/4 shimmies, overshimmies, travelling steps to make your head spin!
Spins till your head spins Pt. 2-just like the title says, all those spins ya love and how to do them....kick spins, off balance spins, whip spins, reverse turns, double whip spins.....Whew!

The next level: getting deeper with your slow movement
This workshop starts by breaking down "traditional" bellydance movement, teaching body and muscle awareness, and moves on to more advanced stylization, giving the student a true understanding of executing tribal fusion movement, and bringing more substance to their dance. Some topics: Breaking down the roll -frustrated with your rolls? Don't seem to ever get better? Step by step this class will train your body to correctly execute a fluid and completely muscular roll, Arms and Hands-getting more flexibility, fluidity and strength, making your armwork look effortless

Pops, hits and the art of isolating
We will be drilling those elusive concepts to take pops and locks to the next level by mixing the liquid smoothness of a snake with hits and stops that look almost inhuman. This workshop will focus on ways to dance with passionate expression while maintaining control and grace.

This high-spirited, concept-driven intensive offers tools and tips for creating more powerful performance. Sultry moves with an old timey sensibility!
Zoe will be incorporating a touch of her showgirl influence into a slow and playful choreography she will be teaching. All that ooey gooey stuff that is so fun and delicious to watch and do will be focused on in this class. If Mata Hari was around today, she might have done a few of these moves.....

Bellydance Theatrics 101
We will be using theater sports to deepen performance presence, work with emotions, and add character and depth to our bellydancing on stage.

Feisty Fanwork & Combinations:
Savor the flavor of passion as we sieze the potential of every dancer's indispensible tool- the Fan. This all new workshop offers sustainable fan technique for bellydancers, along with drills, emphasis on building strength and posture, and combinations that can be reworked for use in your own choreographies and improvisations. Inspired in equal parts by Flamenco, the Fine Art of flirtation, old dance hall, and every performer's need for self-defense, Onça's Fan Fusion is long on attitude and physical power. Most fans will work: feather fans and fan veils will be discussed, but are not usable for the purposes of this class. Onça's preferred fans will be for sale at the event, or you may bring your own. As a special rarety, live music will carry the dancer through every step and flourish.
