Synergy (from the Greek syn-ergo, συνεργός meaning working together, circa 1660) pp refers to the phenomenon in which two or more discrete influences or agents acting together create an effect greater than that predicted by knowing only the separate effects of the individual agents. It is originally a scientific term. St. Paul used the word in his Epistles (Rom. 8:28; 1 Cor. 3:9) to illustrate a dynamic conception of human, divine and cosmic cooperation: "I did the planting, Apollos the watering, but God made things grow . . . Hello All! So, we are happy to announce that the volunteer job offers is now open for registration!!
We will be heading to the land to start the preparations this next Thursday 6th of March. This leaves us exacly 15 working days to set everything up, and we really need help to make it happen. :). This is a mail to inform you about the volunteer options we have for the whole event: prior to the event (event build-up), during the event (event handling) and after the event (clean up). We will inform you about the conditions we give in exchange for volunteers, so hope to give a clear and transparent view of the trade options available.

Here is a sketch of the work that needs to be done at the event:
PRIOR TO THE GATHERING (starting on Thursday 6th):
Land works: buiding the main structures, digging compostable toilets, creating the trails to go from one space to the other, flattening the land where the main structures will be located.
Sign making: we need to make many signs to inform about our policies, and to guide people from place to place, trash cans... (Artistic talents greatly appreciated!)
Clearing and creating the children's space. We need creative ones for this one too!
Wood gathering for the days there and for the Sacred Fire.
Altar buiding.
VOLUNTEERING @ THE GATHERING (starting on the 20th ending on the 24th):

Clean up coordinator/focalizer. This task is for someone willing to manage this responsability. Coordinating the cleaners, handling out trash bags and giving information on the zuvuya policy about trash at the info point. We value experience regarding coordination of groups.
Cleaners. If you feel you are good at keeping a space clean, and you feel the good heart to take care of the land we will greatly appreciate your help.
Security. If you are volunteering on this area, you will be checking for everyone to have wrist bands and you will be guarding the central altar. You need to be a good negotiator for this one. We do not want to create problems with the people who did not pay, instead offer them another opportunity if they cannot pay the full price of the entrance fee. Languages are greatly appreciated. The altar needs some special care.
FireKeeper/s. We will be buiding a Sacred Fire that will be lit all gathering long. We need 1 main fire keeper, who will be in charge of always having wood ready and coordinating the people who wish to be firekeepers for some hours. This person needs to know how to manage a fire with respect to the Sacred Spirit behind the flames.
Information desk. You will be keeping the people informed about where to find all the services needed @ the event: showers, toilets, camping, food, where everything is located. This job will be quite simple. You will have all the information ready, maps, bus schedules, medical service info, etc. Languajes needed. Spanish and english. If you only speak one of this languajes but you feel this is a responsability you could take, do write to us anyway.
Door Support. We will need people at the door to support informing people and directing people to the places they need to go, and supporting the door guardians.
First Aid. We will have a medical tent. If you have medical skills please tell us. Your help is always useful.
Performance coordinator. Specially for theatre, fire, circus and other sort of performances.
Taking care of the elders. We will have some elders attending the event for the starting ceremony. We need people to take good care of them while they are with us.
VOLUNTEERING AFTER THE GATHERING

We can sure use your help for after the event is finished, cleaning up, putting down the main structures and directing people to the right bus services.

As a volunteer be prepared to meet lots of inspiring new people, learn on the go and uphold the ecological and socially responsible values of Zuvuya's intention.
Zuvuya tribe is growing and always in need of talented and enthusiastic individuals to join the production crew. If you are interested in helping to provide fun and inspiring experiences for people, and you have a foundation of environmental and socially concious values, we could probably use your help.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
As a volunteer you will get exchange for your Zuvuya ticket.
What we expect from you: commitment, responsability and clean attitude. If you take a volunteer position you have to remain active on that position during the event.

We ask for a commitment of 4 hours a day, minimum. If you want to participate more actively and take a focalizer position, this will imply more hours of work.
If you wish to volunteer prior to the event, in the building of the gathering facilities, you should be expecting more hours of work. 2 hours more than the rest. We are running out of time, and many things need to be done. During this time, you can camp at the land of the gathering. There is a well with water for washing. No drinking water available at the land. We will make sure that you have drinking water available during all this time. Camping is also available at the land. There is electricity. The land is very virgin, so you will have to bring a tent or hammock to make the space where you camp safe. Kitchen will be communal during this time and run between the community of volunteers, workers and helpers. showers will be made available in a camping nearby.
